In a way I feel sorry for her. She did have a talent and I like her when she appeared in the NC. I only saw a few of her own episodes but I thought she did well. She never should have drank the blue Kool-Aid. Doug escaped his controversy by keeping quiet. Eventually the story died, and everyone moved on. Same with James. People tried to cancel him over refusing to review 2016 Ghostbusters. Rather than apologize and make a review he ignored the hate. Lindsey had to make matters worse by making that "squint" comment. Lindsey is the type of person who refuses to lose. She takes great pride in her success and uses it to say she's better and smarter than everyone. Her own arrogance caused her downfall. She'd rather quit her show than swallow her pride and admit she was wrong or just do nothing. That seems to be a thing with most of the former Channel Awesome people though. Clearly, they are all better than those people who work at McDonalds or Target.

I am not at all surprised by the tone of the goodbye letter. None of us should be. She has always taken her meltdowns to the very height of unnecessary drama. Aside from that 90 minute YouTube video everyone thought was crazy, there was that time she wore a hijab in an NC video because dudes looked at her wrong. And the crusade to get the rest of Channel Awesome to care more about GooperGrape. And her part of the CTC document, and then her response to everyone's reactions. And the small, subtle ways she would take snark shots at Doug even when his hand was still feeding her. Her entire Internet history is nothing but overreacting.
Looking over the Twitter fallout over the past week, I can easily predict how this will be another ground zero where no one learns anything at all. Lindsay herself, obviously, learned nothing. Those decrying the Lindsay harassment will harass the Lindsay detractors, the Lindsay detractors will "stand their ground," and Twitter will continue to be the Internet's biggest mistake.
And finally: shitting blood. That powerlevel blew up my scouter. Did we really need to be reminded Lindsay has an anus, and that it regularly pushes out wine, Starbucks breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, and Twitter stress?

I was thinking, with how the mainstream system and lefties like her love to create "ties" people have to "neo nazism" or whatever (this person was a stream with this guy who was on the same podcast as this guy who onetime retweeted this guy), someone should do that with the left. With how groups like breadtube, BLM, many feminist groups, etc have been exposed as being run by the rich and powerful, why not make some big autistic map that links everyone from Lindsay and Vaush to George Soros? They have made maps that link Richard Spencer to Sargon to ShoeOnHead FFS.

A few years back, Ellis was producing really good videos on Film Theory, that in a fit of genius used the Transformers franchise as a frame of reference. They were clever, funny, and explained some extremely complicated ideas in a straight forward non condescending format.
In the last 16 months she's produced 8 videos. Two were drama videos, detailing her row with a writer that was threatening to sue her (the writer is a broke cat lady, who never had the means to do anything which Lindsay was well aware of) This resulted in public messages of support from YouTube, Patreon and for some reason Legal Eagle who offered to ride to milady's rescue. Two videos were promoting her book, another one attacking Rowling, and of course her cancelation video.
She has zero interest in producing more YouTube videos. She hates the medium. She wanted to work for a large media company, not post videos on an open platofrm. Which is why she agreed to work on PBS's online content. She wants accreditation! I suspect that she'd have kept working minumum wage for Al Jazeera, if the opportunity was there, rather than have to get into the gutter looking for AdSense and Patreon money.
There were the books of course, but the publisher put zero money into promoting them. They only published them because there was a ready made market with her audience. She mentioned in passing on a video that she was so happy that the editor didn't recommend any changes... it didn't even occur to her that the editor probably thought it wasn't worth his time.
Ellis's younger and more stable friend, Jenny Nicholson has made a grand of 3 YouTube Videos over the last 12 months, and has nearly 14 Thousand Patreon subscribers. She has a twitch channel open only to subscribers where she streams Sonic the hedgehog.
Nicholson and Ellis won't go the Spoony route. Like Spoony they hate making content, but they'll throw an odd bone to their paypigs, and just milk them as steady income.
Ellis will be just fine, her editors, that dumb bitch Princess Weekes who Ellis tried to turn into a Literary commentator for PBS. They probably need to find a differnt gig.

It's true, there used to be screenshots on here but I'm not autistic enough to go through 500 pages to find them, sorry.
Basically it was Liz saying something like "I wonder if they would want to hear a woman's opinion" to which Lindsay responded "Is there a woman here to give them an opinion?"
Also, Liz was on Channel Awesome when Lindsay did her Little Mermaid review where all the women sang along to Part of Your World, but Liz was excluded intentionally.
