Wasn't here yesterday and didn't really watch much HoloLive. Guess I took a break after 10 hrs of karaoke relays.

Have Sana beating Kiara's record by streaming for 14 hrs in a row.

Still not beating the psychopath fairy

I can totally see they apply that policy, but source? Technically they already do it with how they provide base funding for talent 3D live and original or other project they can request for special event, but this is the first time I heard they give out a "share" of sort as raw benefit.

Coco said it on a stream sometime after she announced her graduation, couldnt tell you which one

But are they doing well for themselfs ? You would think that a brand that is supposed to be the BIGGEST VTUBER COMPANY in the world they would at least reach Holo en gen 2 numbers for their english branch (even though en2 came a lot latter). You can't have it both ways . Either niji is bad and it's all the talents or marketing is worth a lot and they are doing as well as expected (or in my opinion poorly) and are average at best popo piles at worst.

Inb4: you can't use hololive as a metric the average vtuber is a 2 view shit png. Hololive is the golden standard and if you can't make more than a norwegian teen working at macdonalds as an entertainer you are shit at your job.
I think that I have a fairly successful career, despite making less than the industry standard for someone with my experience, much less not being a millionaire thanks to a lucky IPO or something. At the least, I think I'm making more than a Norwegian teen working at McDonald's, and I bet all of the NijiEN folks are too. I don't need to be a 1%er to be a success, and I don't think streamers need to be either.

Comparing NijiEN solely to HoloEN, they haven't been as successful, no, but remember that HoloEN was a runaway surprise success at a level that the company was not expecting. Compare NijiEN to NijiID or fleshstreamers or pretty much any other agency, though, and they've been a massive, huge success. If I ever try to get in the streaming game I could only hope to achieve the numbers that NijiEN's less popular members pull.

In a small scale set up, everyone bond with one another and understand their hardship and willing to help out vs National scale which doom to fail because there will always be “why work harder while so and so can just jerking off while receiving welfare etc.)
Barely streams while enjoying the benefits of Hololive? That welfare spot is occupied by Ayame.

Part of the Hololive cut goes into a group fund that is then split among all the talents so the bottom earners get a little more and the top earners get a little less

This is wrong unless you can give source. Maybe you are misunderstanding the base salary that all talent receive to keep them afloat before monetization. When 4th gen were debuting in early 2020, it was not enough to live off of. Hololive was already raking in quite a bit back then so it wouldn't make sense unless it was a fixed income.

I'm skeptical because it would be weird for Cover to arrange anything not a typical Japanese talent agency arrangement (base salary + revenue/profit cut).

NijiEN SC ranking, going off of Playboard:

1. Pomu Rainpuff (Lazulight) - $163,666
2. Selen Tatsuki (Obsydia) - $122,104
3. Elira Pendora (Lazulight) - $119,462
4. Rosemi Lovelock (Obsydia) - $71,594
5. Millie Parfait (Ethyria) - $65,884
6. Finana Ryugu (Lazulight) - $65,645
7. Nina Kosaka (Ethyria) - $48,462
8. Petra Gurin (Obsydia) - $47,162
9. Enna Alouette (Ethyria) - $34,421
10. Reimu Endou (Ethyria) - $29,876
11. Vox Akuma (Luxiem) - $17,447
12. Mysta Rias (Luxiem) - $12,947
13. Luca Kaneshiro (Luxiem) - $9,969
14. Shu Yamino (Luxiem) - $9,602
15. Ike Eveland (Luxiem) - $4,007

Overall, nothing too surprising. Pomu is the SC queen of Nijisanji, and has been from the get-go, with the dragons in second and third. Millie's SC earning ability has gone somewhat unnoticed by most, as despite having view counts that are on the lower end of NijiEN she's a very solid earner. Nina is the most succesful Ethyria member in terms of views, but Millie leads when it comes to superchats. Luxiem are all at the bottom of the list, but they've been only active for little over a week so that's to be expected. Anecdotally I've also seen them bringing in more in Streamlabs than I remember seeing for the other waves shortly after their debuts. I do feel like they missed out a bit in not making their monetization debut streams into bigger deals, but they will overtake the lower-ranked girls, probably sooner rather than later.
Im a bit shocked about Finana being so low on the list. Might be also related to her being a bit of a kusogaki and with her toilet humor appealing to a more younger crowd since she's Gen1.

She is Japanese-born to Chinese immigrants. Also, believe it or not, Enna actually has the highest viewer:subscriber ratio in the branch right now. A lot of her gaming streams have been doing Elira/Pomu numbers with less than half the subs.
I often find that the talents that might not have higher numbers might be the ones with the most dedicated fans. Pippa might not have the same number of subs as the other Phase EN girls but her streams do seem to have the highest viewer average (except when Uruka does singing streams) and a good number of superchats.

Don't forget that Niji also gives 100% of profits for their merch to the talents so technically Pomu beats Rushia in over-all earnings
Wait, what merch is Pomu selling that you are saying she is getting so much revenue? Bath water?

oh btw how is billionaire corpo sony vtuber group doing
Oddly enough I forgot about these. Don't even remember their names or channels.

At this point, the only thing left to do is have Cover and AnyColor get the bug out their asses for the EN branches and let them collab. I need my Pomu/Kiara 7 hour idol geekout. I need my Watson/Selen trash talking FPS spectacular. I needs to happen.
This could be mutually beneficial for both companies. Still not sure why its ok for JP branch but not for EN branch.

Either way, pretty much all the people are doing very well. Even the holo ID girls. I think people underestimate the non-superchat numbers. I would guess it doesn't break half of their total pay.
I mean Gura doesn't have as many superchats but I'm willing to bet she has the most memberships and that's a healthy chunk of their earnings and it seems to be fairly static number that probably wont fluctuate too much between the months unlike superchats that usually go up or down depending if there are any big events or announcements that month.

So Astel finished an 8 hour stream of Jump King then immediately switched to Apex 2000 damage endurance. Its been 11 hours since he started that. Guess he will be going for 24 hours.

I’m out of the loop, what’s merch did Pomu sell, that give her more money than Rushia again? Bath water? Pre-double mastectomy sex tape? Or a mature porn clips on OnlyFan like Belle Delphine?

Along with the likely younger audience, Finana streams a fair amount of games that can't be monetized, and in general tends to focus less on superchat messages than most of the girls who make more than her.

I could be wrong but I think they were just joking, the whole merch angle and Niji vs Holo merchandise cuts being a frequent point of debate in /vt/ threads.

He isn't wrong though, Hololive might be a outlier above the norm and can't be used as a viable metric. But the 2 view indies with no corpo backing also aren't pier competitors and are even less of a fair metric than Hololive. Other Corpos are the people you should be comparing Niji, and you need to also take into count how old the company is, NijiEn may only be about 7 months old but it has the name, legacy, and preexisting members of other branches to boost it. Phase Connect by comparison had no legacy backing it up and has achieved very good numbers, its more impressive to me than Niji's numbers are. Especially when you consider that Niji being a big name was able to attract members with all ready decent fanbases.
Honestly I think touting Nijisanji's renown in Japan as a factor in their EN branches success or failure is misguided at best.

Not to say it has zero effect because it will affect it to a degree, but Japanese brand recognition doesn't mean fuck all in markets outside of Japan. "Brand recognition" only matters in markets where that brand recognition exists, and outside of Japan Nijisanji does not command the renown that they have domestically. Like if if the Lawsons of Family Mart convenience stores from japan suddenly opened in the US they wouldn't recieve some massive boost despite being household names in Japan, they would probably fail here to competition that is better recognized in the market.

"Man Nijisanji EN is really underperforming, I thought Nijisanji was the big name in Vtubers" is pulling metrics from one market to compare it to another different one.

Until 2020 practically no one knew of Nijisanji in the west, same for Hololive, Hololive started to blow up in the oversea market with talents like Fubuki and Coco going viral overseas, getting them brand recognition there, and then they capitalized on that recognition and launched an EN branch.

Nijisanji didn't have that Coco/Fubuki figure that paved the inroads to the market and Nijisanji remained relatively unknown to probably the majority of overseas viewers. They might be popular in Japan, but they didn't have that brand recognition and thus momentum behind them when Nijisanji EN began. (bear in mind communities like here aren't very representative of the broader public, we're the people autistic enough to argue about this niche bullshit and pay attention to it, most people are not)
But is it a valid rebuttal ? I am much faster than the triple legged criple down the street , that doesn't make me a world class runner .
It is because the whole "well they aren't doing as well as hololive so they aren't doing well" shtick is just stupid.

It's like looking at someone winning the silver medal at the Olympics and going "wow they really under performed"

They're still a "world class runner" they're just in second place.

Lawson's does have a US footprint, I just don't think it extends outside of Honolulu. There's even a Don Quijote there, although they sadly don't have Miracle Shopping playing.
point taken, although I believe the example still illustrates the point I was trying to make regardless of the distinction.
