The Awful Fursuit Thread - Viewer beware, you're in for a scare!

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I now have a genuine fascination with going to one of these retarded cons just for the experience, but I'm a germophobe and the sheer amount of grime going on is just straight uncomfortable. I had to wear one of those stupid character suits at one of my summer volunteer positions and I was dripping with sweat in less than 10 minutes, I couldn't imagine the third day of a retard collective. How much does it cost to clean one of these? Or is it more of a "burn when finished" sort of thing.
On the plus side, If you’re wearing a full suit, you won’t have to worry about people rubbing their grubby cum-encrusted mitts over your exposed skin.
I recall that some fursuit heads are washer-safe, but most people prefer to either send it back to the maker, or scrub out all the grime and strange unidentified substances by hand. And for the sweat, most have to wear a form of protective underlayer that stops you from spontaneously combusting in even a moderate climate. Also some extra strong deodorant and antiperspirant works, but some just don’t use it.

[/SPOILER]

If this was from one of the first few conventions where fursuits were starting to become a thing, then it would/does look decent. Only the face needs work and might have had inspiration from this.

Already off with a bang. At least the head looks cute.
Edit about fursuits for @Ezekiel Chaimberg and @Juan?: I heard about that too and its not uncommon for a layer to act as one since furry youtubers on suit ups as well as astronauts having a similar practice. You can also ask for some heads to install fans as the only real ventilation is through the eyes. The exception are kemono suits AFAIK. There are also partial suits that only do head, paws, and feet if fulls are too expensive/not worth it for cons.

Portable spot cleaners seem to be the goto solution for cleaning the suits.

don't some suits vent through the ears or neck or something?

I've only ever seen this in a few kemono suits, usually paired with a fan towards the ears since those style of heads tend to be large and hollow enough to fit the setup. Not very popular among western makers since it's not very effective without a fan.

Makes sense. That also goes with the fact that since most kemono suits have a bit of a dome over the eyes.

I'm sure this barely passes the definition of "fursuit" but it was on FA so I feel no remorse.

I'm guessing the mask is paper-mache or maybe some other kind of cheap material as this was posted 8 months ago by a 32 year old in the room that looks like a child's with a camera that seems to have less than one mega-pixel.

God I love these 30 y/o mega autists in the fandom. Nothing makes me giggle more than a dumpy, full grown man posing awkwardly in his school project tier fursuit. Bonus points if his bedroom is a mess and clearly in his parent's house.

Beautiful.

Isn't that Cody Speakers? The guy who draws copy/paste MS paint fetish art of obese furries scuba diving as well as make DA journals about hypothetical wars in Iraq or something?
