One thing that really stuck out to me during Phil's mega retcon today is the fact that he states he has evidence FROM Twitch that one of the—if not chief—deciding factors was his 2010 Nazi video from Dead Space 2 when they reached the decision to remove him from the partnership program. This is, from a legal standpoint, pretty much impossible.
Not to mention:
1) They had a solid case against him for violating the 24 hour exclusivity rules for YEARS, against which he had no possible recourse.
2) Phil has already claimed before that it was "hateful slurs", and now he says this.
3) He never showed the email he got from Twitch the day he lost his partnership.
4) Any time Phil gets busted these days, this is exactly the kind of blame-game he plays. It's always some old shit of his that gets drudged up and used against him, he never admits to any ammo that's recent. Did the same thing with Teespring, he blamed old racist compilation videos.
This is why I made my observation about it now being a thing for Phil to cycle through the same era over and over again. He's never going to change, but he needs to pretend otherwise, so look forward to going through this again in five to ten years when he once again makes a new claim that the Phil we know today, which will be his past, is behind him.
Phil is trying to go back to Twitch, and is rightfully scared that when Youtube eventually kicks him out, he's fucked.
How likely is that, though? Really? LTG manages to stay, and he got himself basically excommunicated from the FGC for insulting a transperson. And besides that, though we can put no stock in what Phil claims to be the reason, the de-partnering IS legit, and there WAS a reason. Even Phil must feel safer on YT than on Twitch now, especially after he got away with saying the n-word. Doesn't make any sense to me to prefer Twitch when they kicked him WITHOUT an n-word slip.
Not to mention they took his money away instead of outright banning him. That feels like some... intent. Like they didn't necessarily want to be rid of him, they wanted to slap him hard in the face. Because they did exactly that. The only two ways to move Phil are by his ego and his wallet, and they picked the more sensitive one.
Either way, Phil has reason to pull this shit independent of any desire to get back in Twitch's good graces, and is an idiot for thinking it'll work no matter who he's trying to fool, when he just recently had the "Phils-a-nigger" incident and called everyone an idiot for having the audacity to acknowledge he said it even though he was on fucking camera. He is damn exceptional if he just got done claiming some old shit of his got used against him and isn't thinking that will happen with his recent n-word slip the next time he's eligible to re-apply for Twitch partnership. Like how in the unholy fuck do you not connect those dots?
