That's part of it. Metokur is from Metokur.org, which was a trolling group he used to belong to. The guy (haberman) that owned the site later regretted what he had done and shut it down and got the wayback machine to purge all of their archives. He wanted to delete everything and pretend like it never existed.

Jim took the metokur name for himself, and that guy's IRL pictures (which many wrongfully assume was jim), to ensure that his legacy lives on.

Those of us who discovered Jim through the Internet Insanity videos are probably not going to be familiar with the lore. All I knew was the Kurt Schlichter videos made me lol, found his Twitter and that was entertaining too.

I’ve never even watched one of his streams but the backstory on how Metokur became Metokur is interesting. Makes me wish Null would start Kiwi Farms University, à la Prager U but with actual classes taught by trollfessors who give tests and assignments. Fuck Harvard, I’d be proud if my kid graduated magna cum laude with a doctorate in Shitposting.

This thread is actually one of the best repositories of Jim info on the internet (not the only one of course). So youre probably in the right place if you wanted to learn about him. Honestly I think the worst you can say about him is some of his content is derivative, but that stuff is actually my favorite. The main Jim series I actually watched was the Internet Insanity videos, which were usually compact, and got a lot of their content straight from the Farms. He usually put in a little extra effort and would sometimes bring new stuff to the table in these, but it was mostly from other lolcow content.

I never really watched these for information anyway. I think Jim is generally really quick on the uptake, ad libs really well, and I like his cynical sense of humor. He's practically a quip factory, his delivery and demeanor is top notch, and I've never watched an Internet Insanity where I felt my time had been wasted.

Also, while it would be possible to mistake his cynicism for nihilism, his obviously genuine anger at things that deserve it (like child and animal abuse) shows he actually does have solid core moral principles, he's just not virtue signaling about them all the time.
