TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

Why is it that I have learned more about writing a book from both this forum and the terrible writing advice youtube channel than from ”the experts”? Goddammit…this world is a circus.
It's more hands on, maybe? The thing about learning is that you have to be able to put what is taught into your own context. It's much easier to remember why x, y, and z works or doesn't when you relate it Lindsay Ellis and her book, because you are already here to talk shit and whatnot.

So the next time you go to write whatever the fuck you're writing, you'll be like "I probably shouldn't portray a character this way, because when Lindsay did it, it sounded fucking retarded", and therefore your project improves.

Perhaps, I'm shooting from the hip on this one.

It's a bit of a double whammy. 1. You cant just pick up writing and write a good book, in the same way that you cant just suddenly pick up painting and be a master. It's a skill like anything else. 2. She has no idea why people buy art.

Ultimately, people like being entertained. All these new authors fresh out of college, or idiot critics who finally try to make art thinking it will be easy, seem to think it's a writer's job to "teach" people things with "themes." People come home from a long day of work and want to have fun. Even the very liberal Steven King will tell you this, as he went on a rant in IT about how fake writing college is and doesn't prepare you for a real career.

So in other words, just try your best to execute an entertaining story to the best of your ability, and it will already be miles ahead of whatever a critic or college student would make.

How much of the book do you think she actually enjoyed writing? I understand that passion projects take work, my own projects can be a nightmare to work on sometimes, but at the end of the day, nothing else really gives me that innate sense of joy the same way drawing and animating does, you know?

When I see a video by Lindsay, or read passages from her tome, I never get the sense that the person making this is feeling that sensation of intrigue and adventure that one gets when reading Tolkien or listening to Aphex Twin or whatever. It doesn't feel like someone who is "in the zone".

In terms of writing, this is where Star Wars (before the PT) is great. You can be a total smooth brain and miss the deeper themes and archetypes being drawn from, but still have fun with it. That was Lucas' mistake with Phantom Menace, it was too boring for general audiences, without getting into the other issues with the PT. Point is, make your story enjoyable first, put your gay "themes" in second.

The only reason to put themes first is you're either too incompetent to write a good story, or you want to be praised for your message. We all know which Lindsay is.

I get the same vibe from all really socially conscience creators. When you think about it, it makes sense. Think of all the times you would have to stop yourself. "Oh, I should give this woman a really sexy costume...but people might hate that. Should I make a character gay? I'm really not comfortable doing it but doesnt every story require a gay characters? Oh shit, I forgot to make a character black!" It becomes less and less a labor of love and more a labor of checklists and asspats. The same thing can be said in video reviews. "Oh no, I like a show with titties in it...uhhhh, I will paint it as an ironic critique, that's it! And I will have an entire rant at the beginning of the video denouncing...the show...I love...hmmmm."

The entire SJW culture is just hating yourself for being who you are and scolding people for not being ashamed enough.

To those surprised that Lindsay still has so many Patreon supporters, it shouldn't surprise you at all no more than it should surprise you that Twitch is basically Onlyfans without the nudity; simps are going to simp. In a world where "muh vagina" shouts the loudest in the online majority to those that are in constant betacuck mode or incel territory, her earnings for being a woman are about as shocking as ANTIFA members resorting to violence first before using rationale.

I'm just on my knees begging the false gods that places like this can continue to poke gigantic holes in the illusion blanket that bitch has carefully constructed for her audience to where she can't rely on morons throwing money at her feet for doing nothing other than being a chick.

Lindsay posted an update yesterday on her Patreon? Sounds like the buzz wore off and reality is sinking in. From her subreddit:
Given that she posted it to her Patreon and it seems to be one of the only ways she can support her staff nowadays, I don’t think I should copy the post wholesale, but the gist of it is that she’s been trying and failing to write a roadmap of her future plans. She somewhat regrets the tone of her last post since it’s upset so many people. She’s trying to think of things to post on Patreon that don’t involve appearing on camera.

She also writes, “ I don't even know how I can keep writing, because my name is attached to my books, and my name is the thing that's most toxic.”

Gee, no fucking shit. Her best bet is to use a pseudonym like "Brostalgia Bitch" or "Anita Patriarchy."

I can't tell if she is an idiot that's lost in propaganda or is just guilt grifting at this point. Lindsay, your name isn't toxic. You have thousands of paying customers.

I will give you a hint. You are one of the biggest personalities on the internet, you can literally do whatever you want.

Note: I just want to remention that I hate this woman, but her utter hopelessness is pathetic and unnecessary.

"I don’t think I should copy the post wholesale", what a faggot.

Well, publicity stunt or not, seems like she'll try to come back with something. Place your bets!
Will she come back under some gay pseudonym, get someone else to be her mouthpiece for her and she just write what they say, or just come back and make some big gay deal out of it?

I will give you a hint. You are one of the biggest personalities on the internet, you can literally do whatever you want.

This is how most women today act over the dumbest shit. Look how women get over deciding where to eat.

She doesn't want to do "anything", she wants to be a "somebody!" She wants to be like her retarded "heroes" and "make a change" kind of shit. All while making big bucks. She tried and failed in traditional media, she tried and failed at NC style movie "reviews", she tried and failed to network with shitty outlets like PBS, and is now failing at Breadtube for being a white girl that made a comment they can blow out of proportion. This dumb bitch will never her learn. She called WAY AHEAD and reserved her seat in hell.

I disagree. She is in a niche of the reviewer world and has cemented herself in a particular SJW clique that leaves her vulnerable to, and already has, a lot of hate and resentment. Just because she wrote a few shitty books doesn't mean she has escaped the typecast label of The Nostalgia Chick. That name will follow her until the day she dies no matter where she goes. All other credentials or credits will be essentially skimmed over. She is locked in to what she has become.

Makes sense. They subscribe in “solidarity,” realize her content is utter dreck, and cancel before Patreon auto debits a second month.

Boozy Lindsay is in a tough spot: she wants to quit, likely out of laziness, but if she wants this money to stick around, she’s going to have to put out videos. However when she does, crybullies will be up her ass because she refuses to go away after self-canceling. There’s few things cancel culture advocates hate more than someone who is canceled that tries to work around them. If she thinks 2021 was tough, that’s going to be a cakewalk compared to 2022 :story:
My theory is a) she's trying to drum up interest in a comeback because "you really like me" b) she got a behind the scenes job somewhere that will let her indulge her vices and become more bloated due to not having to worry about her appearance as much.

I think she is legit depressed. I not incurable, and it's not surprising, being too online makes you crazy.

it's just a lack of happy hormones. All she needs is to see a shrink on a bi-monthly basis.
Also more exercise, healthy food and grass-touching. And hire someone to read twitter in your place. You can do it Lindsay.

Or just stop being a crazy lefty, stop taking shit so seriously, take up a healthy hobby like long walks or painting, and try to have a happy home to come home too. Of course, she'll never do any of that lol She's too far gone.

You guys are way too invested in her personal life, a personal life that you can only glance from ear-say, gossips and the background of her selfies, it's borderline autistic. Different people draw a sense of belonging and satisfaction from different things, not every gal needs a husband, a kid, a dog or a "home". Some gals need an abortion.

When you are deep in the darkness long walks and babies won't do the trick, quite the contrary, they can drag you further. You may need meds. This has been a PSA to other kiwies who may be suffering.

Unfortunately for Ellis, her sjw crowd has "Progressed" past her and now the new wave is a bunch of unhinged types that throw out random buzz words and phrases.
The thing that a lot of people don't understand is that if you're a white person spouting this you have a expiration date because it's only a matter of time before your audience turns on you no matter how hard you supported the cause.
What's Curious is that after the whole Asian thing literally no one has stepped up to that for them since and I've gone back to just sucking off black and Indigenous people

Apologies if this has already been posted—it’s more than a week old but I only just came across it:
