I know I've brought this up before but sometimes it's really jarring to me just how similar these people and the way they run government is to some fictional govbeasts in movies and TV. This shit honest to god made me think of V For Vendetta where the Norsefire government uses the entertainment media to deliver the propaganda to the masses and it's such a juxtaposition for anyone with two functioning brain cells who recognizes what is actually going on. On the TV you see some well known late night host screeching talking points, all the while most people are sitting at home shaking their heads at the TV wondering what the fuck happened to the world they remembered.

Not to switch subject too much, but you bring up an interesting point on how media is used.

I remember when I was little, Obama and Michelle would appear in lots of movies and tv. I didn’t think anything of it at the time, but in hindsight, that was really strange for a president wasn’t it? Obama was as much a Hollywood star as he was a president, and people ate it up. This aspect was what made him the cool president as prior ones never really did that sort of thing. I remember Michelle being on ICarly at one point, and she also had green or healthy eating segments on Disney. I believe Obama starred in that terrible Battleship movie for a cameo. Now looking back, none of that is normal. No president and First Lady, from what I can recall, had gotten that involved with media before or after.

Hamilton was very obviously made bigger by the Obamas, so it is no surprise that entire cast is consistently brought out for the Democrat party.

Same. It never dawn on me either as a kid on how odd it was that the president and first lady were in that much media. Until I got older and realized that was never a thing before them. Like it really does build the notion that Trump becoming president is because Obama open the gateway in recent years of entertainment and politics.

In all fairness I been ignoring the guy. But I figure to respond on the Regean post because it been a common thing I notice form lefties when people bring up the entertainment industry sucking up to Obama like noting before. they tend to go "meh Regean" and it's drive's me crazy. This one of the few times I could set the record straight.

Bait or not, I will give @TheSockiestSock he is correct. Nancy Reagan did have Clint Eastwood shoot some ads. She was also on Diff’rent Strokes. Other than that though, she was mainly there for the average addresses a president would have.

The Obamas, even if he did follow in the Reagans’ shitty footsteps, really expanded their media presence far beyond what the Reagan’s ever did. That couple was on quite a lot shit during there term, and I think people would be justified in saying that it was strange in hindsight. They went far beyond one or two incidents and their general connection to media figureheads was pretty large in comparison to former presidents, barring Clinton who was definitely getting a foothold outside of attention with people like Weinstein.

I swear, Michelle was in all kinds of random kids’ media.

Exactly. Nancy regean may have been in some media during her time as the first lady but not in the extant as Michelle Obama. Michelle was in everything as a kid.
