The old 7.3 IDI diesels in the f-350 are so easy to work on. You only have like 3 wires to run the whole thing. No computers to get in the way. Any greybeard in their town could get that thing singing if they wanted to, and for likely a lot less than $5000. You can pull the whole engine at a junkyard and rebuild it to factory spec for less than $5000. Not that anyone at the teach ever wants to improve their skills or learn something. Maybe save some money or feel accomplished for once. Self-sufficiency is too old school. It's just easier to tweet and beg and dilate.

If their glowplugs are shot, I hope they shoot a can of ether down the throat trying to get it to start in the cold weather. That's the best way to melt a piston real quick.

By the way, this is their second truck GFM. I believe they had one for the other GM truck when I joined to sperg about the exact same thing around a year ago. They should just give up on owning a truck, there's no reason to have a dually diesel now the alpacas are dying out and they're not going into town to work or moving trash for their community

I just never heard of that and since you have to issue a 1099 for anything > $300, it isn't like it's a clever way to evade the IRS. I can't even imagine what their bookkeeping must look like.

It's a 92 f-350 right? The power stroke didn't come out until 94. If you're talking about slave lake idk how that old bird is still around. Too much ether in any diesel will destroy it, especially when cold.

A recent post from J clarified it’s a 95. Which Colt also identified from the Powerstroke badge. That body style started in 92, so that was my guess at the age, sorry if I caused the confusion.
