Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I keep turning on the Supreme Court hearing and then turning it off because these people are so fucking stupid. I shouldn't be shocked by anything at this point, but their voices sound so weak and so insufferably hatable that I am actually clutching my pearls.

But I started thinking. If SCOTUS says this bullshit mandate is ok, it is only going to fuck the Democrats harder as they go all in on these vaccines that... don't stop transmission in the slightest. You'll have people quitting their jobs in droves (and watch as the definition of "fully vaccinated" gets ratcheted up to be three, no make that four, actually five shots...) with "cases" continuing to reach all time highs. Not implausible to imagine that the economy well and truly would collapse assuming the powers that be refuse to let up and people refuse to play along any longer and get any more jabs. Watch these megacorps literally run out of workers as people who are done with this bullshit sit at home, collect their Biden bux, and bide their time till Noevmber. I don't blame them. The red wave will be awe-inspiring.
Imagine the shitstorm if truck drivers were given the ultimatum of either getting the stab or getting fired. One big reason why I think this is all fake is the backlash to vaccine mandates being much worse than the risk of potential infections.

Hospitals, for example. Ask a reasonable person this: would you rather have a fully-staffed hospital where there are people that may not be vaxxed? Or, would you rather have a hospital that is missing a chunk of its staff, has reduced capacity, cannot treat you with whatever-the-fuck you have wrong with you, and they're all vaxxed? Personally, if I was stuck in the emergency room with a lead pipe stuck in my gut or my child had a 104 fever, I know which one I would rather have.

One Australian guy was jabbed twice and he died and have no underlying health conditions.

The Greek-Australian community is in shock following the death of James Kondilios, a fit and healthy 23-year-old.
The young powerlifter and science graduate was double vaccinated and did not have any underlying health conditions when he tested positive for COVID-19.

Mr Kondilios died at Sydney's St Vincent’s Hospital where he had been receiving treatment following severe complications with the virus.

Tributes have flowed for the 23-year-old with Stephen Ma, a friend of Mr Kondilios, left devastated by the death of his “dear brother”.

“I am so regretting that I didn't take more photos with you, I am so regretting that I should hug you even harder when last time we saw each other,” he wrote in a social media post.

“We have been through a wonderful journey, and I want to show my best appreciation and respect to you for standing by me bro.

“It's going to take a long time, I feel so lucky I was to have you in my life, even if it was not for as long as we would have liked.”

Mr Kondilios grew up in Sydney, attended Waverley College and in 2015 represented Australia at the Power Lifting World Championships where he won a bronze medal.

I have never been a great numbers person so I’ll admit I am confused by this
The info says 3.9 times more likely but the numbers “per 100k” just don’t make sense to me
How are they calculating this ? Also keeping in mind lots
Of kids are getting covid, under 5 and are therefore “unvaccinated”?

The fact that vaxxed or unvaxxed you can still catch and spread the fucking virus. It literally makes no sense.

Yeah, and I think that's maybe what is being realised.

The vaccines are fairly effective at preventing serious illness. They are not effective enough to end the pandemic. We have a largely elderly population (20% of the population is pensioners) and one that can be pretty unhealthy, and even with vaccine protection the rate of spread is enough to overwhelm the hospitals. Having another lockdown would not stop the hospitals get overwhelmed.

Therefore we have to just let the hospitals get overwhelmed. If enough people catch it in a short space of time, the NHS will collapse. But it won't stay collapsed, because eventually everyone who would clog up hospitals will be dead. The NHS will have to triage, which means working out who gets the most benefit from treatment - which means triple vaxxed granny gets left to die so a 40 year old anti-vaxxer gets her bed. Then once we've all had it, it's over. If it's not over because of more strains, then we'll do that again, and leave more elderly and sickly people to die. The alternative is to permanently destroy our economy and the country's mental health (especially children, who've probably now got permanent stunted development) and then there'll be nobody to staff the NHS or fund the NHS anyway.

Nobody wants to say this, because it isn't "fair". "We made a load of sacrifices and followed all the rules and you're leaving granny to die so an anti-vaxxer can have her bed?". It's also horrible for elderly people to hear (and the Tory's predominate voter base is elderly people). But it's really the only end game, and the only question is how many more times do we need to permanently wreck lives, shrink our economy and lower our standard of living so that they can try to have a few more years. It's like King Canute with the sea, you can't stop death.

I wish Chris Whitty would get on TV and say that.
Are the hospitals getting overwhelmed though? Any more than they normally do during cold & flu season? Granny ain't dying anymore, not from Omicron anyway.

Big if true

Lots of people was triggered by the decision of Alberta to not revisit the decision of removing mandatory vaccines.
I bet $12 he will mandate them in 2023 for them sweet federal dollars.
On another note,it's shocking to me that BC,the province that still hasn't even begun to recover from the Opioid crisis caused by big pharma is the most vaxxed province. Normies never learn,do they?

Should we thanks some hackers if they are behind these technicals problems? :story:
As a far right mentally ill conspiracy theorist I will attempt to interpret and translate "technical problems" from fascist to English:

"Oh fuck, the deadline is here and we've been fudging the numbers. If we try to force pozz 70% of our population they're going to riot and import some fucking guillotines bro, what do we do? We'll borrow from the financial world - delay and pray, extend and pretend - yeah that sounds good.. we're still going to force the goyim, just not right now because.. uhh.. technical problems"

They don't want to get fucked by riots and they don't actually want to be on the hook for any potential long term consequences, remember, everyone so far volunteered, they might have been/felt pressured but nobody actually forced them - if you hold someone down and force-pozz them you're now 1000% responsible for whatever happens.

I wonder why they don't want to be 10000% responsible for the long term effects of these 100% safe and effective products?

Granny isn't dying, but she's taking up a bed. That's the problem. If granny died a day after catching it, there would be no capacity crisis. There's also a lot of sickly people getting way more sickly because of covid - it's not that they're hospitalised with covid, it's just that covid on top of what else they have means they need hospital treatment. Omicron is just a cold unless you're elderly and sickly, and we've got a lot of elderly sickly people.

But yeah otherwise there's normally hospitals issuing black alerts during a regular flu season because a decade of austerity has ripped the bottom out of the NHS.

Our response is making it worse without a doubt though. Hospitals are now divided into covid positive and covid negative wards, and capacity is further reduced because bed spacing has been increased (so there's less beds). Hospital wards would normally tell staff with flu symptoms to stay off work till the symptoms clear up, but they wouldn't do influenza antibody immunoassays on all their staff and make anyone testing positive stay home for 10 days.

Without control measures the NHS would probably still "collapse" in some areas (especially Cornwall, which basically only has one hospital in the whole county) but not for anywhere near as long.

I thought it was Quebec who was the most vaxxed province. That what's the local media said...yeah right. Btw, did the Opioid crisis also affected the First Nations reserves in BC as well?

It's not granny taking up beds, it's AWFLs and other malingerers who have huge anxiety thanks to the media scare.

In Hawai'i the hospital bed capacity is "full" with COVID patients. Wanna know how many need intensive care? Only 10%. The rest are just inpatients because the "crisis" means they can't be discharged until they're coof-negative.
