I think the difference that separates successful people and unsuccessful people in regards to luck is how you work it before and after. You can't sit there expecting good things to come without putting forth a little hustle. After that initial work, you realize the value of that luck coming to you and you won't squander it. That's why lottery winners tend to squander their wealth and go back to being like they were before they won; they didn't have to work for it, it just came. Rogan puts some effort in, even if it is as simple as checking his ego and just asking a lot questions like he doesn't know a thing.Tbf I've been listening to Rogan's podcast for a long time and he's always been willing to point out that he got lucky in a lot of ways. He just happened to walk by a martial arts gym at the right time when he was a kid, his mom married a decent guy after his dad ran out on them, he got a big break with that sitcom he did before Fear Factor, that sort of thing. It's what makes him more respectable than a lot of these lying fucks like Hasan who want to pretend they worked for everything when Uncle Cenk handed him a six-figure job at TYT with 0 qualifications.
I once met an aspiring actor on a plane, he was an extra on Westworld. He was on a set with Brad Pitt once and asked Brad what it took to be successful in Hollywood. The jist of the advice is, always be on set on time, be easy to work with, and put effort in everything you do. Rogan probably did that in his career which helped him move up the ladder.
