Never got around to pointing this out despite this post being a while ago but the "censored" mona is showing more skin than the original outfit lmao. Amber's also weirdly identical with no changes but has more red and white replacing the browns and blacks. Jean and rosaria are censored for sure which makes the other 2 a bit more confusing. Shits like one of those "equivalent exchange" things.

it's super autistic, but i kind of appreciate the move to redesign female characters because some of them are such blatant coomerbait that it puts me off of playing them. i like sexy ladies, but just plopping a pair of tiddies in front of me and calling it a day is obnoxious.

So... compared to their prior project, I'd say Genshin is an overall improvement in this regard, except for a few characters.

honestly i feel like it's less irritating with honkai because at least the entire character roster looks like that, whereas with genshin you have pretty standard fare and then all of a sudden here comes shenhe with her huge hip windows that only exist to advertise the fact she's not wearing panties. i know coomers are very easy targets, and something something a fool and his money, but you'd think mihoyo wouldn't need to angle for their wallets at this point.

Yeah, that's true, I guess it would become the game's art/style in a way. The status quo. Whereas here it's just jarring going from, at worst, somewhat believable outfits on most characters to, say, Yanfei, Fischl, Mona, or Rosaria(with the latter supposedly being a nun???).

Fischl is a weirdo mentally stuck in being an edgy teen, Mona doesn't have money to buy enough fabric that isn't see-through for her clothes, Rosaria is very bad at being a nun. Yanfei, I got nothing.

Yanfei’s design is awful but she’s pretty good as a character with the right build imo. I thought she was a clown or something of that nature when I first saw her tbh.

A definite possibility. I'm waiting to see whether they're going by pattern of when characters were added (wheels of government turn slowly), or alternatively because Yanfei is part of fictional awesome China she's allowed to be in a bikini. I'm assuming it's the former, but the later did come to mind.

I saw Mtashed's recent video where he mentioned it, but I also really have no desire to do the work and find out for myself what it is.
Speaking of, thoughts on Mtashed? He seems probably the least homosexual of all the genshin ecelebs. Granted, I haven't viewed that wide a swath, but Mtashed seems genuine (aside from the raid shilling, but I don't begrudge a nigga trying to get a get a bag), possibly because of his mental breakdown over essentially promoting a gambling addiction to thousands and thousands of impressionable young people. I mean, it can't get much worse than that, can it? And if you can recover from that, then you can recover from (mostly) anything. I personally don't wish another mental breakdown on him, even if it probably would be a bit funny.
