Remember, a lot of people either don't watch the news or ONLY watch CNN/MSNBC. If CNN just decides to not report something, then it just didn't happen. That's a big reason why I don't talk about stuff to a lot of my 60+ year old relatives; they legitimately have no idea what I'm talking about.
A lot of these people still think that Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed three black guys. They don't have time to be on the internet or on Kiwi Farms being internet detectives. They hear about something either through a friend or on the evening local news, and then they move on.
