These two things being on the show at virtually the same time is pretty interesting. Women don't talk about depth because the vagina's primary function is as a connection between the uterus and the outside. The vagina allows the uterus to grow and shed its lining and thus for a woman to have 12 fertile periods a year (as opposed to going into heat less frequently). It allows a baby to be born from its mother's body into the world. And it allows for sperm cells to reach eggs. As far as a woman's body is concerned, accommodating a penis is a very small part of the whole purpose and function of the vagina.
BUT if you are a MtF tranny, the WHOLE purpose of a neovagina is so that you can be penetrated. It doesn't lead to anything and so it doesn't need to allow anything to exit the body. The 'depth' obsessing is just like the length obsession in men (and some FtM trannies), it's a boast about how well your body performs in penetrative sex.
In other words, the franken-vag is almost entirely for the use of someone else. For Jazz, there's basically zero point in it for him, because he's probably never going to have sexual feeling. It's supposedly for his mental health so he doesn't stress about the sight of his own genitals, but big fat fucking X on that theory. He's obviously less mentally well than ever.
The Big Black Hulk tranny has the better idea, honestly. If you like being penetrated, you're better off getting fucked in the ass and keeping the penis, since you personally will actually get pleasure out of it. "Bottom surgery" for Hope would be ONLY to attract straight men like Sander, and even then it is, at best, a mangled appropriation of an actual vagina, that may or may not resemble it enough to prevent a straight man noping the fuck out of there.
The show seems to be kind of running with the idea that Jazz is 'complete' or 'fully done' while Hope is only halfway there, but it is ALSO, purposefully or not, bringing up the point that surgery is not really for the 'trans' person but for the comfort of men like Sander. And Sander is a douchebag, so.... eh.
That's something that's very hard and awkward to think about, but to understand Jazz, one must to.
At some point, kids ask their parents about their sexual organs and you give them the "talk" and some basic information: say, you tell girls a vagina is where the baby is born from, etc, because telling a young girl that her vag is meant to be penetrated is the kind of info she's not yet ready for at five or six years old.
So, what did they tell Jazz? As I really, really hope Jeanette didn't tell him that they expected him to give birth, what they told him his "vagina" would be for then? If Jazz was in normal school long enough, he could have learned the biological facts of genitals, meaning he knew well he wouldn't be using it for reproduction. All his hopes of having a vag were... to do what, exactly?
Most, if not all, trans kids we see around just dress up and act girly (or boyish), but none really thinks of botching their genitals off. They all have this silly and stereotypical image of what being a girl is: dresses, long hair, dolls, and no more. The young ones likely don't think about their genitals ever, nor how it links to their identity as male or females, which is normal at young age until you reach puberty, and even so, all sexual thoughts are very immature.
Jazz, otoh, has been groomed all his life, since he was a kid, to wish for a way to be penetrated by a man as a goal... even without knowing what that exactly meant or implicated, but that was what he was expecting it would happen once he had a vagina and was old enough.
The real nightmarish scenario for him is that he's given that vagina, but that is not gonna happen. As he's expected to dilate every day, he knows well that inserting something down there is a painful experience because that hole doesn't lubricate or expand itself like other vaginas. And as we know he's obsessed with them, we can assume he's read a lot of what they are expected to do. If his dream of being a real woman involved sex with a man, that's not happening and the family better prays that thought never sinks in otherwise he's gonna kill them all, Ari first.
So if all these grown men with penises are still happy, brave and stunning trans women, why did Jazz need to have the hormones and surgery when he was still a child?
They all kinda know that Jazz has been an experiment for what they should do with all people claiming to be trans at young age. I am sure that Sander and all people involved in this mess see these old unbutchered trans women and feel some pity for them because they can't be what they really want to be. Perhaps, some of Sander's attitudes towards them comes from feeling he needs to be extra compassionate as they weren't lucky enough as his "sister" to have a completely functional vagina.
