General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I give /vt/ till the release of Mori and Gura's original to completely forget and move on from the current Trash Taste and Mori posting. Contrary to what the few schizos say this shit is so mundane everyone is going to get bored and move on.

Numberfags are stupid, but then again you have to wonder why they do it?
Yeah, I couldn't imagine why any corporately contracted talent with streaming obligations in an ephemeral industry would focus on numbers.

This isn't directed at @What the shit and his rehashing. But, honestly the numberfag guardians in general that aren't impartial.

Look, let's just call a spade a spade here. A good portion of (and I'll only be using them for this) Hololive talent has Numberfagged at some point if not consistently. Suisei is my numero uno, but she has done the whole 'sing until XYZ' to hell and back. They all do. Haato even did it and failed (but her progress in that singing stream was incredible). Rushia is the goddamn queen of superchats and she does everything that Kiara does consistently. And yes, there have been references to other talents' milestones during those streams.

Frankly, it comes down to understanding. I believe most of the 'Fuck You Numberfagger's are EoPs that don't get that the one JP-immersed EN talent is marketing like a JP talent. Is it right? Well, I think she should dial it back. . . . but is it sensible? Yeah, it kind of is. And, it makes her brand unique among the ENs to her JP audience. Yes, even being a numberfaggot is a selling point. Her JP fans are idol fans, and idol fans love that shit. The numbers are proving it, as much as it is fucking her mental state unfortunately.

But, you're right. Numberfagging is stupid in the grand scheme of things. The problem is that it is both logical and encouraged in the entertainment industry as a whole. Kiara is playing the game by the rules and gets hit for it. P.S.A.: If you think that your oishi isn't doing the same, 85% of the time you would be disappointed. Very rare are the talents that simply do not give a shit (EN for the most part, which makes sense since they cater to that audience while Kiara is hell-bent on catering to JoPs as well).

Anywhore:
Mumei's new single is a great expression of her vocal ability. I'm not her biggest fan, but she has true potential and this song is tapping the surface of that.

Looks like gamer rage incarnate will be playing some GTA; Online tonight on stream, should be entertaining to say the least.
Tenma was made for this game.

Plus it’s not like there’s not numberfagging going on in here literally all the time along with long discussions about it.

While I agree with the spirit of a lot of what you're saying I think you're conflating "numberfagging" with "any acknowledgements of numbers whatsoever" which I don't think most people mean when they talk about "numberfagging"

I don't know anyone that's ever used the term that would call milestone streams numberfagging, It's more a term in reference to an unhealthy focus on it, and the whole "only EOP people do this" thing also goes out the window when Fubuki herself has vocally discouraged fans from overly obsessing over numbers as well and if she's saying it I highly doubt she's too alone on it.

The virgin Kiara "is it okay if I collab with males" vs the chad Baelz/Mumei just going for it.
I feel like EN1 is far more restricted than EN2. To me EN2 is basically similar to ID in taht it seems management might be a bit more lenient with them.

This is absolutely not going to be the case. I'm sure the girls will translate for Mumei when needed, but other than that, this is going to be almost completely in japanese, because that's how these things always go - the vast majority of people in the collab can speak japanese, so that's the language that's going to be spoken for 90% of the stream. I'm sure at some point one of the boys will probably say a single sentence in english or something, but even then, that's likely to be just as a quick joke or a simple greeting rather than an actual serious attempt at an english conversation.
I think Mumei has some basic understanding of japanese. Worst case scenario she can just use that phone app that translates text from photos. Guessing the prompts wont be too complicated. Can you copy/paste text from Gartic into a Translator? If so then that's another way she can manage things.

According to Fishman, Phase Connect season 2 is coming out in April with some tid bits dropping in the next month.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand the oil baron makes an appearance right at the end

Shit they have been talking about Wave 2 for a long time. Mentioned them playing together in Cube-game and lurking around other member's streams. As for Tuesday, holy shit this man drops $100 on every stream I get to catch. Multiple $100's sometimes. Is this motherfucker Scrooge McDuck?

I don't know how I feel about the song. I feel like the voice track should be louder. That said the song does have an anime OP feel to it which is pretty cool.

Tenma was made for the game but the game was not made for Tenma. Shit plays for 2 seconds and buffers for 5.

This time the Pippa RP collab started out great but got a bit boring. 1st character dies instantly to zombies. 2n character was pretty great, gaslights everyone, steals cars and trucks and then gets clubbed to death by a psycho in a country club. 3rd character should be mobility mary but she's just roleplaying as an old woman with dementia (so future Pippa).

Fishman's currently giving the deets of how the vtubing sausage is made
Jesus she really needs to adjust her mic, maybe move back a bit. Mouth sounds everywhere, you can even hear her swallow. Im usually not too autistic about this but holy shit its killing me inside. The valley girl-ish tone of her voice doesn't help either. Struggling with this since I do find the topic extremely interesting.

I mean in this situation it's not even about management she's looking for approval from fans, and asking to do so in the context of a sponsored stream, which is something she's already done with management approval.

So that's gonna be a nah from me. In general I disagree with that idea about EN management differing in treatment between Myth and Council. But ultimately that's beside the point because management's got nothin to do with this specific context Kiara's dealing with.

As much as I feel indifferent to dislike her contents, I can't deny I feel bad for Kiara sometimes. Imagine being in her position, always thinking that one slip up could cost her successful career. Its going to be a torture everyday
Couldn't happen to a nicer chicken. It is almost like she gets off on this shit.

Holy shit, Tenma has been playing GTA Online for all of like 10 minutes and she's already jumped into a $1 million payout mission with only a pistol :stress:

Edit - NVM apparently she managed to get into a session with a modder. TenmaB& incoming

Laugh in gaming hag lion saying Poi.
But yeah I agreed. Numberfag is built in the industry itself. Even the smart one isn't above it because it's really the clearest indicator of how well they do their job. So long as they don't dwell on it too much and sperg out too often I guess.

I witnessed history tonight. Tenma made a friend in her first GTA O session and didn't even get griefed. Actually very happy for this stream because I was bored and not expecting it. Figured she'd have to wait longer to see some of the cool stuff but some hackerman has been giving Miichan access to flying cars and oppressor bikes so hopefully this becomes regular programming

Two of my oshi's, Aki and Coco did numberfag but also specifically said that numberfagging was retarded and not something they should do and is actively unhelpful, that chasing the numbers makes for bad content and made them personally unhappy

Fubuki says that because numberfagging is a problem in Hololive. Everyone in Hololive has obsessed over numbers before and it's usually bad for mental health. Many have admitted measuring self worth or performance in sub count. Haachama wanted to beat Coco to 1M subs even though Coco was not competing with her because of the pressure of being Senpai. Korone talked about feeling bad because she had a slow start in Gamers. Akirose and Lamy have talked about feeling inadequate from being surpassed by EN1 in subcount so quickly. Fubuki herself was under pressure from being #1 for so long that she was actually relieved when Gura surpassed her sub count.

They are all completely aware of what people say about their sub count and growth. Many JP Holos have said the exact same insecure shit that people shit on Kiara for.

Numberfagging has always been a core component of idolfaggotry for as long as agencies started releasing CD sales leaderboards publicly. There is always going to be an element of competition between talent even if they all like eachother.

Sana: Stellar outfit. Love the incorporation of the memes like Neighbula and bread. The pattern on the dress has a good amount of detail and is gorgeous. The sleeves are wonderful too. The braids look SO CUTE on her. And that Neighbula debut part was really funny. THANK YOU SANA, PAPA PAKO, AND COVER!

Fauna: Amazing outfit. Maid Fauna! The dress and sleeves are the same pattern, a beautiful pattern is. Apron looks amazing too. Highlight is the ADORABLE twintail braids. THANK YOU FAUNA, COVER, AND ASAGI MAMA.

Kronii: Absolutely phenomenal. There is a ton of detail in these gorgeous patterns, the inclusion of the snek is just terrific. Boros is CUTE AF, the floof is amazing, and the hair is wonderous. (I don't like the massively nerfed booba, most nerfed of everyone, wonder if Kronii requested that or not) THANK YOU WADARCO MAMA, KEFFIY PAPA, KRONII AND COVER!

Mumei: Stupendously simple. If Kronii is detail done right, then Mumei is simple done correctly. The owl and short hair are SUPER CUTE, the beret is an amazing touch, the dress has a simple and elegant design, that vest-like thing is sleek af. She looks stunning. THANK YOU MUMEI, RARIE PAPA, AZURE PAPA AND COVER!

Bae: Fantastic outfit. The dress and sleeves have an excellent pattern, the super long hair is wonderful, the mask is just too great, and she's the only one without nerfed booba (blessed),
THANK YOU MIKA MAMA,COVER, JUJUBE PAPA AND BAE!

Favorites were Kronii and Mumei.
People said that it's less a booba nerf and more a booba bind and I agree
