Pretty great country. Highly enjoyable cuisine (especially if you like seafood) and climate.
Two issues for a Gunt in Lisbon:

A) Green lights and red lights are more of a suggestion for traffic than a rule. If he rents a car, he's dead or is going to run someone over. If he waddles crosses the street without looking bc it's clearly a green light, he's going end up as someone's oversized hood ornament for sure.

B) Pickpockets. That LV manpurse ain't safe, and I'm fairly certain he's not the kind of tourist that acts and dresses inconspicuously. I imagine he's more like...well, a lot of obviously American tourists (especially given his *ahum* girth)

Not Portugese, but Lisbon is a pretty Anglophone city, most people will speak or have some level of English.

But Ralph will be an obvious tourist, and an American one at that, so he'll probably be charged 5x the actual price of everything.

Since Ralph is an uncultured Appalachian redneck, I'm guessing he's never left the country before and doesn't have a passport. I'm not sure how much turnaround time has changed but when I got my passport years ago, I had to wait weeks for it to be processed and delivered. I wonder if he even did any research before saying he'd be flying out on Sunday.
