Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

This isn't particularly CG related but it's a slow week. Is anyone else surprised by how hard people are rallying against The Book of Boba Fett?
I haven’t seen it, but Ya Boi’s complaint was that it turned a murderous fearsome bounty hunter into a hero and friend to all. Is that true?

The fact that some dude who drinks a 40oz of malt liquor on camera every day for youtube, and has been uploading videos of that type for years, has the CG people so shook really goes to show how dry for content they are and how fucking boring they are. Maybe they should release their books so they might have more stuff to talk about. Also goes to show how boring most of them are that this random dude instantly injects piles of interesting stuff for them.

It's your turn now Nasser.

Nobody’s shook by it. I think he’s funny, but I grew up in a blue collar Jersey neighborhood with tons of guys like him. I just wanted to enjoy his oddball videos. But he became aware of us watching him, and now we’re interacting.

It’s just good fun.

Imagine this: In 2017 you superchat YBZ to read and review the most iconic issue of a marvel superhero.
In 2022 he uploads this video:

It is the wrong issue.

See, superchatter asked him about Deadpool #11
Everybody who has read Deadpool knows Deadpool #11 refers to this gem: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Deadpool_Vol_3_11
Where Deadpool titmetravels into a Spider-Man issue from 1967 (ASM 47).

YBZ being the dummy he is instead does a booboo and reads the Quesada era Deadpool 11 which, as most of Quesada era Deadpools, is unfunny and tryhard and totally skipable...

Episode 3 was shit but it's kinda a Bildungsroman of how he changed after escaping the Sarlacc pit and what fuelled that change.

It's not like they suddenly made Bobba trans.

This isn't particularly CG related but it's a slow week. Is anyone else surprised by how hard people are rallying against The Book of Boba Fett? I'm one of the most Disney-critical Star Wars fans you'll ever meet, but from where I'm sitting this show seems roughly the same quality as The Mandalorian, which I also enjoyed. The costumes and makeup are still great, the writing is still average, the music is still shit. I do agree BoBF's pacing is really weird, with each episode so far being half-flashback, but in my eyes Star Wars' pacing was fucked the moment JJ Abrams decided to include a flashback in TFA. It just seems like the criticism is oddly disproportional this time. I mean we just got an episode in which Fett has a fist fight with a Wookie gladiator, we get several minutes of screen time with a rancor and it's implied Fett will be riding it later on, and all anyone is talking about is that the swoop gang's speeders were too colorful (something Lucas himself probably would have loved for it's 50's aesthetic).
Anyway this certainly isn't my hill to die on, just an oddity I've noticed. I'd be curious to know how the thread feels about it.

There's a thread where people will happily pillory Book of Fett for you.

I'm not going to derail the thread by pointing out how awful those swoops were. Because who would possibly want to distract from this...?

And this is the future Comics and Comicsgate deserves.

You almost seem giddy, did calling out late books and making fun of your pet retards hurt your fee fees that much?

Why don't you tell us exactly how many pages you have done for Rekt Planet?

Or will shame and cowardice prevent you from doing so...
Unfortunately we're probably at least two years away from the next chance he'll have to fulfill a campaign on time. His livestreams have already lost half the viewers, lets hope it survives that long.

Which one is this again?

I had to look it up. Holy shit, this is book 2? What the fuck?

Blood Honey was launched in what? 2018? So...in four and a half years you've drawn maybe a hundred pages of this thing with maybe sixty published. Wow!

YouTube Metrics are up across the board.

I hope you thank NuCecil properly and kick Old Cecil as punishment.

I've been following your livestreams for years now. They're lucky to crack 800-900 now. I don't take pleasure in this. WTF did you do for the entire year of 2021?
Nah, my livestreams last week broke 1300 viewers.

“DEAD SUBS” are waiting for me to talk STAR WARS agane. It’s just comics for me now.

Somewhat buried in amongst the shit-flinging and butthurt of Nasser's stream today, was a brief but interesting discussion of the failings of traditional US comics:

I definitely agree about the European size being better than the traditional US floppy size. You can even take any good US comic, print it in European/international size, and it just automatically becomes about 15% better.

As for scheduling and page count, it's interesting to look at Bolland's early work - he did one of the first direct market 12-issue series for DC in the early 80s, Camelot 3000 (where he struggled with the deadlines), and then followed it up with the prestige edition The Killing Joke, where he says DC basically gave him no deadline, they let him work at his own pace.

As a Bolland/TKJ fan, I was surprised to see how pants his art is in Camelot 3K, compared to TKJ. Here's some examples for comparison:
