What I'll give to be listening in on the salt flowing from Kiev at the moment.

The United States has ever been a fickle ally, but Biden may just permanently tanked the US reputation in Eastern Europe, at the minimum. Who would even trust the US word after this? Taiwan may as well start making arrangements to ally with India and Japan permanently instead.

As much as it sucks for the Ukrainians, it may ultimately be for the best.

We ultimately have no necessary strategic reason to continue to expand NATO all the way up to Russia's borders, and in my opinion it was the definition of imperial over-expansion and in the long term would have been a net negative for our security. It reminds me of how ancient Athens was continuously expanding its alliance not because it needed to, but because it simply wanted to, ultimately bringing it into conflict with Sparta's sphere of influence and triggering the Peloponnesian War.

So BBB and the voting rights bill are both deader than disco, the OSHA vaccine mandate loophole has been cockblocked by the SCOTUS, people are increasingly taking notice of inflation and supply issues of their everyday basic goods and fuel, and it was all topped off with a horribly surreal press conference that has the fucking government of Ukraine suddenly biting their nails.

One year ago today I was blackpilled by the state of where things would go, but this is bringing me renewed hope that Joe and his monstrous associates in the DNC are seen for the usurpers and illegitimate government they truly are.
