I think Putin cares more about the long term survival of the Russian nation even if it costs relative economic prosperity for a long time.
Looking at the moment it's the best time to invade because waiting 10 to 20 years not strategic, Russia would be too fucked by demographics to fight and support a long term conventional war. If doing something now has more benefits to doing it in the distant future its likely going to happen now unless NATO cucks and sign some treaty because we got a great economic depression on our way and we need cheap Russian gas.

We don't expect the West to GIVE us a better standard of living. We already get a higher standard of living by aligning with the West.

Russia just offers us more of the same.
Really? Seems to me that Ukraine went nowhere economically in the last 20 years or so. But I don't live there so alright.
Anyway, this whole situation with Russia started week 1 after Biden took office. Go back and read the news if you want to. Leads me to believe it's him provoking this situation, not Russia.
Jesus, you western rightoids are dense as fuck.
I'm not western, I'm from a country bordering with Ukraine.

Also lol @ americans taking western news about Russia at face value, how special are you? I wish you good luck finding Saddam's wmds and I hope you put all the babies back into the incubators.

Yeah its globohomo shit vs Ruskies.

At least the ruskies have less pedos.

Since Germoney shut its nuclear down, Putin owes their asses.

Hans will cluck cuckingly if Bidepoo tries to fling his grampa diapers at Putin.
Post-Soviet Neo-Stalinist nightmare vs Neo-Liberal Capitalist hellhole. Neither side is an improvement unless you are a tranny or you love "Great Stalin". In the past I stated that all this is Putinist brinksmanship, but the continued increase of tensions and refusal of neither to concede will force Putin to invade, or he will be viewed as weak, something that he can not afford. However, even if he invades I think that he will stop at the Dnieper, the whole affair will last a day at most, but Russia will face enormous economic consequences. I expect that they will be isolated to a level comparable to Iran.

Or Suslov in particular, who was a protege of Stalin...

Looks like its Euro cuck o'clock! (Or the French just indulging their favourite pastime of rat fucking the Anglos when its gonna hurt)

First of all Moscow times.

Secound this is more Macron wanting to push for more of a unified European security like building the EU army and shit like that.

I have bad news for you, tovarishch, it's either Western globohomo or Putin's neo-Sovietism. We're all hosed.

No, countries that chose to teach English as second language (instead of Russian and also like KZ change to Roman alphabet) and establish ties to EU instead of Russia have more financial opportunities and freedom down the road. It doesn't require globohomo.

If you know English and got visa-less travel, like Ukraine did post-2014, kids graduating with basic English skills, can pretty much work anywhere in EU, make awesome money (compared to Uki standard of living) make connections and friends in other EU countries with much higher standards of living. After a while, they all come back to their country with enough savings to start their own business, buy a house, raise family etc.

This is the reason why Vlad is adamant that Russian stays at very least as the second language in x-USSR space, it ties people to specific, shitty space.

Up 'til 2014 they were with Russia, so obviously that didn't help them a whole lot, did it? May be trading and working with the rest of the Western world would be better.

Also doesn't help that they spend big part of their budget rebuilding their military, thanks to "Russian brothers" who promised never to invade or covet their land.

Ukraine did get better financially since 2014, despite all the military expenses, not dramatically, but the trend is pretty solid.

Rofl ... then may be Putin should look after his own pensioners and countrymen in general. A country where wast number of households still use firewood to heat their houses despite abundant gas supply, fix their roads, stop closing factories ... but no, he is more concerned about making any other place in the world a shittier place than welfare of his own people.

China is the world largest producer of rubber dog shit. That has to count for something. Russia is the biggest producer of vodka. It shows too, Russia is a shit hole, all the while blaming the evil west as it dies drunkenly in a snow bank.

Russia is smart enough not to engage in a full scale conflict with NATO. So some sabers get rattled, some civilians get killed, shoot down a civilian jet liner or two. But that's it.

So did the Russians. And?
I'm not excited about having a glorified US vassal state next door. Especially not next to fucking Russia.

Kievans and Muscovites are just about ready to throw down. Will Kiev lose for the 700th time? Find out next week, on Slava Ball З.

I didn't realize that that Biden has been in power since 2014, but okay.
I imagine he's referring to when Biden referred to Putin as a murderer on TV not long after taking office, then backed down from his comments and hid when challenged, thus showing weakness in Putin's eyes. And I'm inclined to agree, I think everything the man has done so far has done nothing to change Putin's mind.
