The Abused Child to Troon path is a well worn one, but it's not usually the family pushing it. After that "just the tip" conversation she had with Sander, anything is possible.

Wasn't there a conversation between her and Sander last season where they both discussed how she was giving up on her dreams of a pornstar coinslot for more attainable goals of... anything remotely resembling function?

They are REAAAALLY pushing the "Jazz got accepted to Harvard!" narrative, aren't they?

They couldn't be more basic even if they try: "yes, our child is fine, don't you see she's going to HARVARD™? How can a person with all those alleged mental issues could be going to HARVARD™? She is going to HARVARD™, hence, she's perfectly fine! In fact, she's even better than the other kids, because they aren't going to HARVARD™."

It wouldn't surprise me if the "Jazz needs to prove she's mentally well to be reaccepted!" story is some bs story they made up so white-trash watchers could say "See? If HARVARD™ says she's ok, then she has to be ok!" because they're easily impressed and they would never believe that top colleges are in fact full of neurotic people.

But how well is it working, really? Jaron still had to estabilish a "medical team" that will work around the clock to make sure he doesn't OD on food.

Hey all, sorry for talking about something from quite a few pages back but I wanted to make sure I read through the whole thread and wasn't rehashing old info by bringing this up.

I wanted to mention the case this reminds me the most of, but before I do I want to say it's not a 1:1 comparison. I'm going to talk about the subject and outcome and let you draw your own conclusions as to where the parallels lie, as I don't want to shit up the thread arguing about what does and doesn't fit with what we've seen, and with what we speculate is happening behind the camera.

So with that disclaimer out of the way, I'm going to break the hearts of everyone who doesn't know about this already and tell you why every time I read about Jazz I think about Ricky Rodriguez.
Without getting too deep in the details, Ricky was born into a cult called "The Children of God" (which still exists today as The Family International) whose leader was a proud pedophile and proponent of incest. No, I'm not being hyperbolic.
Ricky, then called Davidito, was raised as the cult's christ child and was supposed to be the model for how all cult members would raise their children. This is all documented in a story released by said cult called "The Story of Davidito" which I will not link because it's incredibly graphic but can be found online. This was released to all members of the cult, detailing Ricky's constant sexual abuse starting at infancy, declaring it the healthiest way to raise a child. Despite this constant abuse Ricky grew up to be a very empathetic and caring young man who sadly took his own life after killing one of the women who had sexually abused him as a child. He said in her final moments she still didn't understand what she had done wrong or show any remorse for how it had effected him and the others born into the cult.
Ricky, to me, is a truly tragic figure. He was a surrounded by adults that exploited him in every way and proudly publicized that exploitation in graphic detail. He lived his short life in fear that his experiences would be used as a template to abuse others and couldn't stand the idea of others having to face what he had. You may not agree with what he did in the end, but I personally don't think he knew what else to do, and afterwards couldn't live with what he had done.
I know if you're in this thread you don't need warnings about cases of child abuse or exploitation but I suggest having a handle of vodka nearby if you decide to go down that rabbit hole.

Anyway.
Also a huge thanks for the episode recaps. I'm fascinated by all this but can't bring myself to sit through even a single episode.

I think someone behind the scenes is scrolling the farms for sure lol.

But they aren't denying Jazz' abuse...strangers on the internet not believing that Jazz goes to Harvard makes them angry but not people talking about the cruel child multilation & exploitation & the lack of boundaries in this sick family.
