Anything is better than scar prices but honestly if you're looking for a budget friendly battle rifle you're probably better served by an AR-10.

What is it that you're trying to do? Are you looking to build a new AR entirely? Build just a new upper? What is your budget?

People here can give much better advice on parts if you give a bigger picture.

should i fab defense ak stock or just wait out for the bonesteel folding stock? i want something that folds to the right, i don't want a zhukov and while i haven't ruled out an AR buffer tube stock it's not my first choice

i'm leaning towards the fab defense since it's got that comfy looking rubber buttpad and that adjustable cheek rest to make the kobra sight line up real nice. the bonesteel would be more for style points than anything else.

FAB Defemse is Israeli made ProMag tier garbage. They've been a joke for years and years.

Wait for the Bonesteel, they're worth it. I've used several of their products before.

Alternatively, see if CNC Warrior has it in stock.

Hmm, I would consider your local. If you are in the desert, rural-ish areas, go with M16 style. If you're in the city, go with the "M4" style, aka, a 16.1" presumably.

Honestly if I were to purchase a pistol it would probably be a 1911 or at least something in .45 if not 10mm. It's been around for a long time for a reason.
