Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

The Republicans turning themselves into a single-issue pro-life party would be retarded, but the Dems turning themselves into a single-issue pro-abortion party would also be retarded.
what else can they do?
the gop is going the democrats are the REAL transphobes route
whining about obamacare wont work twice thrice
pretty much rejected trumpism as a policy
ending the endless wars wont work twice
they failed at immigration reform already
besides slamming democrats with facts and logic, what can they offer?
ban abortions i guess

How does one do a "telemedicine abortion?"

Do you get a doctor's note and they perscribe a coat hanger?

Why can't they just say "ban on perscribing Plan-B medication"?
It's a new thing to be concerned about since one or more government bodies recently decided that they'd allow abortion pills to be distributed through the mail. So the telemedicine bit is a direct counter to that as a way to prevent someone with an unborn baby past the threshold from just doing some web appointment with a doctor in some liberal child sacrifice happy shithole who would then prescribe abortion pills to be mailed to them. This forces the person seeking the abortion to see a real, live doctor, in person, who if they are practicing in that state, will be held to that states laws.

And Ukraine doesn’t want to face a proven hostile nation alone. Russia has treated its neighbors like garbage before NATO was even an idea and now that the countries and peoples they mistreated are looking elsewhere for economic and defense pacts. It’s a grave they dug themselves.

Yes, and so what? America backing regime change operations and setting up puppet governments when the nearest power can barely keep its tanks fueled is one thing, and quite another when it has an active space program and controls energy supplies to Europe. We want to set up missiles in Ukraine and point them at Russia; Russia does not want us to do that. Expecting Russia to just not do anything because they're "bad guys" and we're "good guys" is treating the world like it's a Harry Potter novel.

The Monroe Doctrine still is a thing with the last US president's State Department using it and citing it in its sanctions on Venezuela. The current administration hasn't lifted said sanctions. It's still a thing.

China having a better spy ring + playing the economic investment game better than the US doesn't change that. They own 60%+ of the world's precious metals sources iirc. Africa will be speaking Mandarin by 2040 without a doubt.

None of this changes my point that people acting as if Russia having a hard red line on the Ukraine joining Nato is unreasonable is dumb.

China is asshole. They're just not as ideological as the USSR was, and they realized they can just bribe anyone in any Western government they want as long as those bribes go to the top and are spread across multiple parties. Their spying mostly relies on exploiting anti-discrimination law in the USA that disallows screening based on ethnicity. The Chinese don't recruit spies based on ideological sympathies, gambling debts, etc...they just go for you solely if you're ethnically Chinese and have any close relatives back on the mainland they can threaten. We know this, but it would be racist to do something, so we let it happen. Plus, you know, bribes.

And the Russians expecting Ukraine to roll over without killing 100,000 russians is also like a fairy tale.

you do a telemedicine call and you get abortion drugs and you take em at home

subtract the telemedicine call and that's how people get abortions in places like el salvador

Meanwhile, in GOPe Land:
Gov. Noem announces heartbeat legislation, telemedicine abortion ban

You gotta love the fear primary challenges bring to politicians. It's unlikely, but I hope Steven Haugaard makes waves against her. Techpriest's only W is his dislike of this woman.
Not gonna happen, she has massive support in the state on every issue except her handling of marijuana hilariously enough. People here love her.

This. And the current criticism about getting involved in Ukraine has nothing to do with "Putin's a good boi he dindu nuffin" and everything to do with the simple wisdom of "you do not start shit right in another great power's back yard."

And since the go to response to that these days seems to be "lol, Russia's a fucking third world country with a shit economy, they're not a great power!" well guess what, when said country has thousands of nukes pointed in your direction and their landmass covers a significant portion of the northern hemisphere, you need to treat them like one. Of course this gets back to the dipshit attitude our diplomatic corps. have taken in the post-Cold War era, which I've already written about in the Ukraine happenings thread. Case in point, that recent State Department release on Russian Disinformation Narratives just happens to conveniently allow them to write off any calls to re-examine U.S. policy with regards to eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
We also have people approaching ninety years of age in Congress pushing this narrative, who came of age when making scary threats against the USSR was a good political strategy. It's like they think "Well, it worked pretty good then, if we tweak it we can make work for us again". They fail to grasp how much the world and the US electorate has changed. People don't vote a straight party line ticket anymore. They don't take network and cable news show as gospel anymore. Newspapers have gone extinct. For every shill like Brooklyn "Former Crackhead and Paid DNC Shill" Dad on Twatter there are dozens more countering his propaganda with propaganda of their own. Facebook has stifled dissent to the point people simply ignore it and moved elsewhere for political information and discourse. And for every boomer that does fall for it there is one who thinks "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". Biggest surprise of the fall of the Berlin Wall was the USSR was on defensive mode, not offensive as the MSM and our glowies claimed all throughout the Cold War.

You have to get the people who have this retarded nostalgia for the Cold War era out of foreign and domestic policy making. They don't long for modern mid century furniture, they genuinely miss us vs them dynamic, forgetting that each side has nuclear weapons that came close to annihilating humanity, and I don't mean just the Cuban Missile Crisis, there was shit like this.

I point out we've been here before and Noem vetoed it, if memory serves.

Has she learned her lesson?
You are correct and yes she has. She proposed this bill, talked about it in her state of the state a couple weeks ago (worth checking out, her agenda is solid), and is doing national ads to push it.

This is true but if she really wanted to appear moderate she shouldn't have voted against Trump in the two fake impeachments, that alone will come back to bite her hard when it comes voting time, especially if Trump's still around and pushes for a Republican candidate to run against her.

For certain ones you could consider them lame ducks, like Doug Jones from Alabama, like that was clearly a lame duck run because Alabama voters weren't gonna let him just stay in office especially when he was so open about his Trump hatred; also considering he only got in because of voter shenanigans and the Roy Moore scandal.
Scandals. Moore is several flavors of crazy and has been that way forever.

It’s just impotent screeching, though if it pisses her enough to declare her “independence” and refuse to caucus with Dems in the Senate then that will be quite hilarious! I doubt she’d do it, but you never know.
Don't the Dems only have a Majority in one of the branches because of some fuckery with caucusing? Like, Independants + Dems outnumbers the Gop, but technically that's not what the rules say, but no one wants to have THAT argument...

Or am I misremembering it?

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Overturning Roe Vs Wade is a door the GOP DO NOT want to go down. Not only would it give the DNC a rallying cry to win the 2022 Congressional elections, but also 2024 AND beyond as far as revitalizing the party on the local, state, and federal level around legalizing abortion, drawing moderates away from the GOP (since a lot of GOP moderates don't care about abortion at worst and at best tacitly are OK with it, often under the guise of "I'm OK with abortion because rape and incest babies happen and also sometimes you have to kill the unborn child to save the mother's life").

If abortion is made illegal on a state per state basis, then it's game over for the GOP. Biden/Harris will ride that train to retain power and revitalize the 50 state strategy solely around keeping abortion legal in all fifty states. WORSE, it would revitalize the fundies, who would be able to silence/disenfranchise the populist wing of the GOP by claiming they won't vote PERIOD unless the GOP ban abortion in all fifty states and keep it illegal.
Maybe if this was 20 years ago, sure. But considering there's a lot more going on today, like skyrocketing inflation and supply issues, I think it won't have the effect you're predicting. The rich cosmo types will rally behind it, but they'll rally around anything the DNC says. Blue collar folks will say "That's nice, but I'm having trouble keeping food on the table and a roof over my head. Not the time".

Like believing that men can change their sex, believing abortion isn't killing a human being is an anti-science take that is becoming more and more impossible to justify. Remember, Roe v. Wade was established before ultrasounds. A huge majority of people support hard limitations on abortion (rape, incest, life of the mother) and maybe first trimester (which is medically irrelevant, so most conservative states would probably shift to heartbeat bills or force further research into fetal pain). The Dems are losing people on this issue too, though it's sort of hidden and wrapped into a black-and-white pro-life/pro-choice frame. The Dems cannot defend "up until the moment of labor" abortions, and any change to national abortion policy would force them to do so. The people who vote for abortion rights are already locked into the Democratic party, and their current policies are too extreme to bring new people on board. So I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that this issue would hurt the GOP.

Shifting gears, I don't think it's been brought up, but the girl who was raped by a troon in Loudoun County, Virginia, has been beaten up twice in the school as a result of reporting it. The second one happened the other day and is on video.

Is it even possible for the Va. GOP to overreact to this?

I also think that the GOP showing big balls on any issue, and actually going through with it and winning might actually energize the members of the GOP base who are..tired of the party cucking constantly.

Is it even possible for the Va. GOP to overreact to this?
No, because quite frankly the girl and her parents should be exiled to New York, but they won't actually go that far.

It’s not “fuckery”, per se. It’s that Bernie Sanders CLAIMS to be an “Independent” BUT chooses to caucus with the Democrats. Ignore the fact that he ran for President TWICE in the Dem primaries. He likes to cultivate the image of an “outsider” so he chooses to reject official Dem Party membership yet votes in lockstep with them and in reality IS a member of the club.

Now, Sinema COULD leave the Dem Party. She’d have 3 options if she chose to do so. She could claim to be “independent” and if she did then she could choose to caucus either with the GOP or the Dems. Which way she decided would decide which Party has the majority. She could ALSO join the GOP officially, but I think that’s less likely. In fact, I think it’s unlikely that she does anything, but if she left the Dems she could still choose to caucus with them. If they pissed her off enough that she jumps ship, though, then that would be hilarious!

I have no idea if I'm supposed to feel sorry for her. The dad seemed based at first then turned into the typical Christcuck, so she might share his beliefs. Why in fuck she was dating a faggot in a skirt in the first place and getting fucked in school bathrooms despite being a good little Christ shecuck herself, I don't know, but her parents should have put her in a different school as soon as all this went down.

You know what, fuck 'em all. This is the country whitey wants, so whitey can have it.
