General GunTuber thread

You can tell something really got to him when his explanations and anecdotes contain bizarre flexes, such as claiming he has never been to Florida. He has spent most of his professional life among small groups of people, and I think e-fame contains hazards that he is ill prepared for. He needs to rethink his level of accessibility to the masses.

Some nobody posted a video about it recently hoping it would get him attention and instead chipped away at his own subscriber count. Paul also talked about him in the second half of the video.
Ok that makes a lot more sense...to be fair, I've only made it to the 50 minute mark or so in Paul's video. However, my base point stands.

Hungry Handgunner is a retard trying to start shit with Paul and also springboard off of year-old drama that otherwise nobody would know about. That's about it.

I can't wait to see spergs arguing over whether or not to restore the defaced imperial chrysanthemum. Because you can just bet someone will want to restore it.
This have been a long going discussion with the 10 million times folded steel weebs since the 90ies and WWII buffs ever since the War ended. Japanese military hardware in the civie market been tapped out since the already mentioned weebs buying everything of glorious Nippon they can get their hands on.

Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point

It's a point that needs to be hammered into people's heads repeatedly: gun makers and mod vendors fundamentally have a conflict of interest when it comes to your rights and the laws as they are enforced. Vendors which offer solutions to legal workarounds--while those workarounds may be appreciated--have a vested interest in those loopholes staying in place, even if that means upholding retarded gun laws.

Active Self Protection video Paul mentions
Guy's a sperg that thinks the science of shooting at a chunk of meat and fruit is not a repeatable medium. Ballistics gelatin being made in some asshole's bathtub truly has killed the spectacle and enjoyment of shooting homunculi.
Reason he doesn't want to shoot groceries is because his fat ass is more worried about eating them

I find all modern CCW gurus a little exhausting. It's created a group of people who's identity revolves around what they carry.
Guntubers and Instagunners are partly to blame after the apparent contest to see how much uncomfortable shit they could fit around their waist. It's not uncommon to see Joe Schmo appendix carrying a full size duty pistol, extra mag, TQ, fixed blade.

Imagine your #1 interest/hobby being the gun in your pants. There are people on reddit and facebook, where the majority of their brain power is dedicated to CCW theory. Their favorite pastime is recording videos in the mirror; drawing and then concealing (all with a romantic self gaze as they look upon their badassery).

I carry and even make/sell a CCW product...but CCW takes up so little of my life.

It's a fault of our modern culture. People get engrossed into hobbies that are about buying and defending what are just tools. Normal people use tools for their purpose and that's where it ends.

Yeah I can’t imagine talking about guns or talking about talking about guns all day, especially online.

You know, you could make the same speech about gender politics/identity, with only a few tweaks. This to me indicates the problem is more about general culture and how it filters down into specific subcultures.

People living their lives on the internet all seem to act the same. It might be clowns, it might be lion tamers, it might be the bearded lady, the acts change but the circus is the same.

lmao yeah I know it's a bit pot calling the kettle black here. But I think that people building their personalities around their possessions is more pathological than talking about guns online. People who are in the EDC type subcultures are really neurotic about brands, looks, etc. when most people on arfcom just want to know how to do X thing or whether buying Y is a good deal for Z purpose.

Gun culture is fucking gay. I love guns, I love shooting. I hate gun people.

Is that even a joke answer? Dude always came across as unironically autistic.
It's a joke answer, yes.

Paul Harrell is clearly a very detail-oriented person and also a bit of an old-fashioned boomer, but he's also very clearly able to navigate social norms, speak eloquently, have varied interests, and enjoy meaningful relationships with people who don't immediately share his interests. The term "autism" has been worn down to a bloody stump these days (and I'm as guilty of doing it as everybody else), but the actual definition of the word does not apply to Paul. Or to most people we call autistic, anyway.

The spectrum has become so broad since "normal" is considered "ableist" that a family man who would be considered perfectly normal building scale tanks or trains in the 80s would be diagnosed as a turbo-autist these days. And so would a kid with a slight speech impediment. It's dumb as fuck.

Communities where people "identify" as something or other (and this includes people "identifying" as gun people) are almost universally fucking gay.

"You will never be a gun nut. You have no revolver, you have no shotgun, you have no reloading press. You are a zoomer twisted by social media and videogames into a crude mockery of a man’s hobby. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your "oper8tor beard" and BRCC shirt behind closed doors. RSOs are utterly repulsed by you. Tens of years of experience have allowed them to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. And even if you manage to win a local shooting competition, sponsors will turn tail and bolt the second they get a whiff of your reddit post history. [...]" etc etc etc

Karl's wild west vignettes were/are great, it's a shame that they're such a pain to produce and they garner such little attention compared to the rest of his stuff because I really did love that content.
I found this place after looking for an explanation of why Karl suddenly had assclowns like Deviant Ollam in his videos. I'm only a casual viewer, so I wasn't up on all the previous drama (though I remember a few WTF videos with weird Brony shit in them - didn't care enough to look into and assumed it was some kind of meta joke)

Needless to say after browsing this thread it makes sense now. It's a shame because I really enjoyed Karl's Wild West stuff and felt like I learned something with each of them. His straight commentary videos, Brutality matches etc where he restrains his snark and ego have always been enjoyable.

Seems like he's trying to market InRange to the Antifa/SRA crowd at this point.
