I think it's pretty obvious that Joe Biden isn't actually making decisions on anything tho. Afghanistan was a complete disaster, and it's easy to blame poor senile Joe for that. The US government is kinda like the late-stage USSR at this point, with a decrepit gerontocracy nominally running things while completely unaccountable bugman apparatchiks actually run things... incompetently. It's not obvious that anybody's actually in charge, and maybe the system is just too big and too corrupt for anybody to be in charge.

Considering how well the rest of his administration is going he probably think this is the most brilliant plan and indeed would put that nasty Putin in his place, thus fulfilling his campaign promise of "standing up to Putin."

I'm expecting the "Strength through Diversity" strategy to fall through spectacularly. I would say "the bottom would fall out on Biden" but he's been in free fall like the Mad Men opening credits so while I can not see how things could get worse, I have faith that Biden can find a way to make things worse.

except those are not the ones who go into the infantry. overwhelmingly those types come from the Rural and Suburban Midwest and South who provide recruits at a higher proportion than that of the more liberal states.

but the above does not matter because US troops are not going to directly engage Russian troops in combat.
