Agreed on both counts. Previously, that was the policy with threads like the Brianna Wu/John Flynt thread, which is why the current thread is actually the third, but Null stopped that after realizing it messed with SEO and the new threads had considerably lower pagerank. Considering how some cow threads are almost as big as the old Biden thread, if not bigger, it might be something that needs to be revisited in the future, but that's on his end.

Sperg threads like those in A&N, however, should be fine to set that as a policy since they're not visible to guests anyway.

And before this thread gets too much bigger, if I may offer some constructive criticism:

I saw you do this a bunch in the old thread and didn't say anything at the time, but honestly, I've just been skipping your posts of late because it's pretty repetitive to read the standard lefty hot takes over and over. There's really not much to discuss there, so I dunno if it's worth posting half a dozen randy Twitter screencaps repeatedly.

That's because it was an issue on the backend. Ride admitted on the subforum that shall not be named that it was poor wording on his part; he was referring to the mod tools that become unusably slow when a thread becomes too big, even for simple shit like merges.

If you can't trust the other side to follow either some agreed upon set of ethics or even their own proclaimed set of ethics, there is no longer a possibility of working together.

I talk with some people on the left and they seem astounded you would want some sort of consistency. That someone would be okay with either set of standards being applied to people as long as it's applied equally. It literally just does not process in their head.

At this point it is reaching a self-destructive level. Completely burying it... isn't actually an automatic win. The clips still exist, and if the General Populace isn't given a chance to consider it for a bit it will instead catch them by surprise when it's used in attack ads.

Ding ding ding. I have mentioned this well back in a few threads now, but the modern left has completely lost the art of actually fighting the culture war. They have coasted for quite some time on the sheer size of their power... but have utterly lost the ability to actively use it in an offensive manner. So they are left doing mad swings without any skill behind them. So when Trump appeared, and the left was already reeling from several instances of grassroot events which had hit them, and the big orange bastard came out swinging... they didn't have any way to respond other than screaming and yelling.
