No baby proofing in a home is needed till a baby starts crawling.

All the nursery stuff is really for an older infant and toddler. People used to bring home newborns and let them sleep in a drawer. It’s only once the little things start rolling over and sitting up that the you need to start thinking about the safety of their immediate surroundings.

Pantsu is a very weird person so perhaps better Pantsu watchers will be able to explain how this is all normal. But here are some weird things about this pregnancy:
- Lack of reference to prenatal care. Prenatal care ramps up sharply as a woman approaches the end of the pregnancy, going from an appointment perhaps once a month to every few days by the end. I don't think either Pantsu or Ralph has made reference to seeing an OB or a midwife or any care since the last ultrasound, which would have been at 20 weeks.
- No baby stuff. Babies need a lot of stuff. This is a first baby. No crib, no stroller, no car seat, no clothes. Typically people start accumulating this stuff during the pregnancy. There are some cultures that don't because it's bad luck, but Pantsu and Ralph aren't members of those cultures.
- Very Very Trad women would even prioritize making things themselves for the baby. They'd be making booties or receiving blankets or decorating baby's nursery. Pantsu larps as trad with pictures of the food she cooks for Ralph, but nothing that she's doing for the baby. She really doesn't seem excited at all.
- None of the social events that precede childbirth in modern secular culture. No gender reveal? No shower? No excited friends? May be explained by neither of them having any friends.
- Ralph goes off here there and everywhere when typical first-time moms want their partner available in case there are issues with the pregnancy or an early labour. How many women here would be fine with their spouse going off for unnecessary international travel when you're seven months pregnant? May be explained by the fact that they might hate each other.

Anyhow. It's just a weird vibe. I'm hoping someone who knows Pantsu better has some insight into what the heck is going on here. What was Ralph like during Faith's pregnancy? Faith seemed much more normal in her reactions than Pantsu does.

Oh for sure it was my emotional reactions to a major life change, one of the ways I kept my stress levels down was staying low key about the pregnancy publicly. It helped, I had an easy pregnancy and healthy baby, but it made me realize that there's no single right way to prepare for a baby. You have to do what's right for you, and people will bitch at you regardless.

I am not exactly sure this is golden bullet against the fake baby theory, though. You have to remember that these are both deeply lazy people, and it is entirely possible that maintaining a nine-month long façade is just too exhausting to maintain for them outside a bare minimum.
