Okay as the resident psychfag, I'm going to explain a few things.
Schizophrenia is a genetic condition (so is bipolar for the record) so very likely either his mother or more likely his father had it. Usually if you don't exhibit symptoms very early on then it starts to come out in your late 20s. Basically if you have schizophrenic relatives and you don't have any symptoms by the time that you're 30 you're absolutely fine. So he very well could have seen the somewhat true but still word salad ramblings of a close family member knowing one day that might be him.
Schizophrenics are probably the most difficult people to get to take their fucking meds. They never want to take their fucking meds...and they feel absolutely amazing and are fucking normal when they take their fucking meds. If you find a schizo who regularly takes their meds they deserve all the awards and support. It's like getting a borderliner in a healthy adult relationship or getting a narcissist to go to therapy. Cluster B is probably the worst shit to have out of all of the types of disorders you can have because there's no cure and for many there's no medication that can completely eliminate all of your symptomology. Schizo's will still occasionally go off on something weird even if they are well medicated so basically you could be sitting in this guy's class and it would be pretty normal and actually a decently good class and then he has a moment about " KIKES SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED BY NIGGERS" or "gold heads with delicate farts are the best elf white women. They have icecream SMOOTH armpits that feel good on ones dick." in the middle of something serious and everyone as a wtf moment and the schizo doesn't realize they just had a Level 6 Schizo Moment (tm).
Also 99% chance of Relapse at some point even if he is compliant to curing his blood cancer.
That's basically his future peak performance, unironically. Schizophrenia is a sad, sad disease and if you yourself might have or know someone who has schizo blood you need to be aware of when it shows up (usually teen or young adulthood in stages.) It's better to intercept early before you go full Blood Cancer. Please heed the words of the crazy nail icon haver and get informed about it. ALSO if you have schizo genetics DO NOT SMOKE WEED EVER!!! Marijuana can trigger the gene for it in cases where it may not have otherwise been triggered. This is especially important for teens to know who have schizo genetics in their family. Avoid it like the plague.

TL;DR: THC= can cause schizophrenic psychosis. CBD= very good curative for other med issues. We need more studies to show correlation. Current data supports this.

A timeline of events based solely on the restraining order:
- September 2020: At UCLA, Matthew tries to reconnect with Kate Ritchie, who he met at Duke in 2013. He is already creepy as hell at this point. Their interaction caused her concern. He stalks her for months with disturbing calls and texts. Develops a sexual fixation.
- January 6 2021: Matthew emails his mother with the subject "Sandy Hook 2 Professor Shoots Everybody"
- January 21: Matthew emails his mother threatening to execute Kate Ritchie
- Late March 2021: Kate instructs Matthew to never contact her
- March 30 2021: Matthew is placed on leave due to his inappropriate contact with students (pornographic emails, predatory behavior, etc.)
- April 10 2021: Matthew shows up at his parents house, causing some alarm as he had not been seen in five years and is clearly in need of psychiatric care. Mom searches her email, discovers the threats against Kate
- April 10 2021: Matthew's emails are forwarded by this mother to Kate Ritchie where they are received as a credible threat
- May 12 2021: Matthew is released from a mental health facility and returns to LA. I don't know when he was admitted.
- May 13 2021: Restraining order filed
