Replying to myself just to repeat something interesting in the call around like 30min, a host says that all the protesters he talked to were willing to explain why they were there and even their vaccination status, and he groups most of them into "don't tell me what to do" or "misinformed/conspiracy theorists". His solution to this whole thing? Set up a town hall so health officials can talk to them. Because clearly these people haven't looked at the data over the past 2 years or anything, they're just misinformed anti-vaxxers!!

There are a surprising number of people who lack the ability to understand differing opinions, they look at the data and come to a conclusion and then they are incapable of understanding that other people can look at the same data and draw different conclusions. They're so sure of their own superiority and intelligence that they think the only possible explanation for this is either ignorance or stupidity, it's just as infuriating as it sounds and dealing with it first hand makes you consider violence after the second or third cyclical conversation. People like this cannot learn, they are physically incapable of it.

I hope they realize that they don't need actual trucks to form a convoy, I mean we can do it with F-150's and even Ford Escorts and Toyota Elantras and Kia Souls...10,000 vehicles on the road in every city, shutting it all down

They did something similar with Kamala Harris' bus on I-35 in Texas before the election, and ended up getting looked into for domestic terrorism/intimidation or something silly like that.

Either way, it doesn't matter since the restrictions in America are not nearly as severe thanks to the courts and red states, and after 1/6 and/or known glow-in-the-dark operations, paranoia is high is that everything is compromised by the feds.

I'm sure there will be others who disagree but in my opinion the traditional values were a sort of liberalism with a right wing attitude. Canadians used to have a sense of patriotism and belonging as a Canadian. Trudeau's father was so beloved in memory because he seemed to represent that sort of attitude - he had ideas that looked similar to socialism but sometimes appeared conservative with family values (Canada loved the nuclear family, you need family to survive harsh winters).

Some of them still see truck driving as like the cowboys of the highway - they're outlaws, they bend the rules but ultimately they're just trying to make a living for their family at home. Some of them have pride of being a truck driver. Honestly, Ray from the Trailer Park Boys is a perfect example. Canada wasn't full of upper class millionaire rich people once upon a time. It was sort of built on the working class and the working class values itself helped shape the Canadian attitude. Truck drivers, especially working for a fleet, remain to be a blue collar work force. Those who can afford to become an owner/operators (as in they own their vehicle and make contracted hauls, usually across the country or between Canada and the US) were generally capable of living comfortably in the lower middle to middle class. They were less likely to be a "Ray" type and more likely someone who would go on to start their own fleet.

I liked the piss jugs comment because its not wrong. Neckbeards owe truckers props for the invention and popularization of sitting for 14 hours straight only moving your arms and feet.

I'm not saying truck drivers are heros or anything - cowboys were also dirty and you can make anything sound cool with the right words. But if you toss out the small population of sex offenders who are also truck drivers, overall the average driver is an upstanding citizen paying taxes and just trying to make a living. And sometimes pissing in jugs.

I've tried getting your video to work and it doesn't seem to have uploaded properly, I even tried to just save it and it seems to stop around 40%. I just point this out because this audio is amazing and I think it absolutely needs to be archived. I gotta get to bed and I couldn't find a quick and easy way to download it off twitter so I hope someone can make sure we don't lose this because it's too good to let get away.
