I live in a blue area and some restaurants don't even have the "must be vaxxed sign" anymore.I think that for the most part, the public will lay down and listen to the government for probably another year. The pitchforks won't come out until the endless booster campaign rears its ugly head and people start to question the efficacy of a vaccine that needs multiple shots per year (as opposed to the regular flu shot, which are for different strains, not variants) in order to have some semblance of work. However, fatigue is quickly setting in. The Johns Hopkins study quietly came out and admitted that lockdowns had no impact on mitigating the virus. This news, of course, got zero air time or mention on the public networks. Similarly, a discussion at the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda 2022 , Moderna's CEO (Stéphane Bancel) encouraged "Vaccine Mania" to persist indefinitely.
I have seen rising support for anti-mandate protests such as the Canadian truckers, with some idiots on sites like Imgur criticizing them for honking and "occupation". After the GoFundMe debacle, over 4 million Canadian dollars have been raised for them with an alternate website (GiveSendGo).
You still have some branch Covidians still screaming about how people should get vaxed + boosted and trumpet from on high that "measures are necessary until everyone gets the jab and the booster" - which is straight out of "the beatings will continue until morale improves" playbook - but even those people are starting to get drowned out by public discontent. Every time the government demands another shot or another backtrack on mandates, public faith is eroded. I don't have any hopes that people will come to the same logical conclusion that many "anti-vaxers" had in the months or years before any time soon, but I am encouraged by the increasingly rational response.
