The recent stuff - Gator's stream ("I just like anime"), Flamenco's stream ("I just like fighting games"), screenshotting your bit on the Casino ("I just liked that bit, honestly!") seems like a deliberate "How can I goad a thin-skinned rager into starting a fight, but in a way that gives me plausible deniability, so he looks unreasonable and I can take the high ground?"

If Jim's goal really was to start a feud with Ralph there's easier ways to do it, and the logic of "plausible deniability" only fits if you think any of the things he said were genuine potshots and not the same jokes he's been making about Ralph for two years. Nothing he said could be taken as mean-spirited or even aggressive, if anything they were stale, the same "haha pillstream pill bottle" bit
And why would Jim even want deniability, as if he needs a moral justification for laughing at someone being a retard NOW?
It's as silly as Ralph repeating the line of "why would you make jokes about me if you don't hate me," it's got nothing to do with vindictiveness or goading. This is 100% a self-inflicted wound by Ralph lashing out more and more aggressively as a result of feeling he's more and more made fun of. The entire stream was a perfect expose into Ralph's insane psyche, his genuine belief is that laughing at a stupid thing he does is the same thing as/only the result of hatred for him.

Instead, it just signals that it’s impossible to go too low against Ralph. Every day is open season. As Jim pointed out, Ethan is responsible for encouraging the “alawgging” he denounces with such venom. He could stop hitting himself anytime, but I’m not sure he even knows how. After listening to the Jim vs Ralph stream and a few other older streams/clips linked in this thread, you can really hear the deterioration in Ralph's voice over time. Dude has probably damaged himself and not even realised or even noticed.

Nothing to do with justification, it's about fucking with someone with an ambiguous provocation rather than an open one.

It means he can paint Ralph as paranoid and over-reacting to innocent things, it means he can defuse things into a therapy session with Ralph himself confused as to whether he misread the situation, it means Ralph ends up asking "do you think I'm crazy?" and Jim can answer yes, and explain why, and even Ralph probably ends up doubting himself.

It also scores points with a lot of the audience, like yourself, who buy his "who, me?" explanation.

Openly provoking him, the "easier way", is far less effective. At best you end up with 5 minutes of screaming insults over each other. If Jim was that basic he wouldn't have an audience.

I remember when Mersh had his recent Killstream meltdown Ralph actually seemed like the amused adult in the situation, gently needling his fellow gunted streamer and calling him on his actions while basking in the absurdity as the cross eyed clown desperatly flailed. Then someone said he sharted and the old thin skinned manchild was back and it was downhill from there.

I think I finally figured out what Ralph reminds me of. He's a Chris Lilley character brought to life: brash, heart always on his sleeve, vulgar, sort of dumb, selfish, entirely un self-aware, hilarious whether he intends to be or not

I didn't find the confrontation entertaining but depressing and draining because I realised that every insult Ralph throws is projection and it became a therapy session. It is not as fun as the Boulderstream where Mundanematt comes up with the silly boulder excuse or Keemstar losing his mind.

Examples of insults which are projection include:

1. You changed your name just like how Ralph goes by the pseudonym Rad Roberts and how he lies about being from Tennesse when his family are from Arkansas.

2. You hide in your house like a pussy just like how Ralph hid when Jesse paid a visit and cries like said pussy when they send diapers and corn cobs and a DVD.

3. I hope you die in a ditch sayeth Ralph who had 4 or more encounters with death with that heart attack, being stranded in the cold, having that car crash that pulverised half of his car and almost being beaten to death at Portugal.

4. Medicare Metokur sayeth Ralph who is not the best physically and I think we might have a contest to see who would die first at this rate.

If you want me to go at Metokur, I can think of a few things like Jim Time and how he never delivers on promised content and his personal fetish that he promised to divulge. That is not the case with Ralph though.

But if there is any takeaway, we can tell what problems Ralph is facing by his insults and we really need a thread to document how Ralph projects and is a hypocrite. It will come in useful if you are confronting Ralph.

PS: I find it amazing that Ralph can deny and admit to wrongdoing at the same time.

Yeah, I was recently listening to a few old videos, and the difference between now and then is quite stark. It amazes me how prescient Jim has been among these people. I'm reminded of him saying to people like Tonka, Andy, Ralph, etc. something along the lines of don't take things too serious, do Y, and then just collect superberries. That's it. And yet all of them want to make life more difficult for themselves for no reason.
