This is nothing compared to the kind of shit internet schizos and the average /pol/ user is submitting. They can't just filter out the word trans without getting rid of real results. As much as the airport disruptions impact the elite and the business classes far more than the average individual, it's also a bit more risky than just parking at Parliament Hill. That being said, cops last night were taking resources from the truckers so this might be a tit-for-tat disruption.

Unfortunately they can just say "we got millions of report of harassment!" even though the reports are fake, either for woke points or for trolling like us here farmers

I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t care about fake reports at all. As in they are ok with inflating numbers.
 
If they were ok lying about the number of legitimate reports then they were going to lie all along. They could just state they have received 6 gorrilion reports even if they got 2 total. It's not like they arbitrarily draw a line at how much they are willing to lie. So they must be looking for real reports to read out/interview for. Which means your shit will be forced upon some intern

I had some shocking police brutality in downtown Ottawa to report with the form. I demanded of some officers that they crack some trucker skulls and throw them in gulag and steal their children and they said no! Our (well, not mine) democracy is at stake and they brutalized me with their refusal to beat up my political enemies. I believe this happened because of my "opposition" to "fascism" :cryblood:

No. The answer is no. The laws function similarly to the US. The fact that they are in public in such a setting that is drawing national and international attention from media, it can make them what the law calls (paraphrasing) limited public figures. While they aren't celebrities or politicians, they had 15 minutes of fame so to speak. Opening yourself up to public opinion is a great way to make a libel suit unwinnable. It can be argued that their beliefs are indeed far-right, their actions are indeed extreme, and are indeed causing terror. It would be hard to argue against that in court, especially if said court is in Ottawa. It would also be difficult to say it damaged their reputation because they are already open about their beliefs, values, and what they are doing. I'm sure the media's lawyers could handle it anyway. I can't imagine how many libel suits media companies receive per day.


You didn't even really answer the question you quoted and said some vague shit so I'm not surprised you're getting shot the fuck up by George. It's well known that libel includes malice and provably false statements. The difference is that the roles are flipped in the UK, and the burden of proof is on the defendant instead of the plaintiff, making the cases function completely differently. Canada also has greater protections against frivolous lawsuits than the US, meaning weak claims of libel won't even get looked at.

At least in the US, you can still sue someone for libel if they engage in malicious false association, even if you're a limited public figure.

What do you want Trudeau to do, conscript child cops and force them to arrest the truckers? What the Canadian government is dealing with is a manpower shortage. They simply do not have the men to respond to more protests. This is why truckers popped up first at Windsor and now at Emerson and the police aren't forcing them out.

The only real people to leftists are the ones they see irl. Everyone else is a number on their TV. They are wondering why the government can't move the numbers to where it's needed. "Canada has 100k police. 2k is smaller than 100k. Why are the numbers not moving like they should?"
