Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Does anybody actually give a shit about another Fire Emblem/Dynasty Warriors game? Only the remasters were at all interesting. I guess if you're a Xenoblade fan for some reason there was that.
That and Hyrule Warriors (both the base game and Age of Calamity) are some of the best Warriors games, spin-offs or otherwise.

Not going to lie Xenoblade 3 is the first game in years that I am actually excited for. Nia as a main antagonist just feels right. She was verbally vicious when she was good but think of all the savage put downs she will spew at the heroes now she has gone full Darth Vader. If Nia does not bang on about a one eyed monster then lets lose some big ass cyclops type creature on the good guys as a random boss fight in XBC3 I will be disappointed.

It unironiclly looks like Xenogears 2 and thats pretty kino if they get cameos from gears like they did for Kos-Mos/T-elos but they won't because square are pussies

I rewatched the Xenoblade 3 trailer and paused it to make notes. For those who care, this is what I noticed.

The black haired girl/guy is obviously the protagonist. The flute(s) has plot importance. There are two of them.
There's a war going on, because of course there is. Can't have a JRPG without a war, I suppose.
Ionios? Ionieus? Is that the mechonis-looking thing in the background?
The sword at 0:29 looks like some kind of Monado replica, like the Monado REX in Future Connected.
The Gormotti girl uses weapons similar to Nia's rings. I don't know whether this is a traditional/commonplace thing for Gormotti or if the girl has a connection to Nia. It's more likely to be the latter.
Some guy with a grey face shows up. I assume he belongs to one of the races in Xenoblade 2.
There's also some girl with a massive hammer. There's also a rugged-looking guy with an X-shaped scar on his face. Reminds me a bit of Vandham.
The black flute is shown being played by some blonde woman, and there are other flute-players onstage with her too. I noticed in this scene, everyone's wearing some kind of blue glowing ring device around their waist, just like Shulk did in Future Connected.
The trailer goes on to show some landscapes/environments. There was one I instantly recognised: the distant fingertip on the Fallen Arm in Xenoblade 1.
The next shot shows Sword Valley in the distance, but vertical.
There's a thing with giant tires. No idea what it means or why it's just sitting there.
You can ride a boat! Exciting.
Massive-tire-thing can fire lasers. Cool.
The brown-haired girl is a High Entia with small headwings, but they're black, instead of the usual white. Intriguing.
There's Melia, dressed like she's on her way to a fancy funeral.
Next shot shows Nia in a golden mask. If that's Nia, then who's the other Gormotti girl? Her daughter?
There's a snowy landscape with what looks like the iced-over head of a Titan from Xenoblade 2. I don't know what this means for the Titans, or Elysium.
Sword Valley fates into view in the final shot. Black-haired guy and the Gormotti girl are clearly the leading two characters of this game.
Coming September 2022. :)

Black-haired guy is Shulk's descendant; Gormotti girl is Nia's descendant. Brown-haired High Entia girl could be a descendant of Melia but I'm not counting on it.

Melia and Nia are the leaders of the two opposing factions of the war, hence the masks they wear. It means something, I swear.

I don't understand why a frozen XC2 titan and Sword Valley exist in the same world. What happened? Why does Nia have that golden mask? Is Melia really in mourning for someone or is that just her fashion sense now?
At the end of Xenoblade 1 the Bionis is thrown back into the original world/the one from 2 by Alvis when Shulk kills Zanza.

Here’s hoping the gacha shit is scaled back if Blades are still a thing.

Did not watch this shit, was anything that wasn't 1) a spinoff 2) a sequel announced?
Here's your new game bro

Wait I thought that Alvis just remade a world from the scraps of the bionis at the end of 1 and the people from 2 enter a new one after the cloud sea regeneration shit was fixed

Mickey's ears were less polygonal on the N64 lmao. That aside, it actually doesn't look terrible. I'll probably at least give it a race or two given that it's F2P.

It looks like a poor man's fzero and is made by the Asphalt guys who do make good shit, it will be fine but nothing special

Lotta Square games in the direct, would be cool if Nintendo, Namco and Square stopped being dicks and let Monolith tie up all the Xeno lose ends. Would love to see Fei and Kos-Mos in the same game.

Namco is fine with them they even had monolith make the 2 project x zone games for them and put fioria with kosmos in 2, its square thats the hold outs here
Never forgive, Never forget

It's very much an IP rights issue on who has direct control on everything else relating to merchandise and non-game related stuff.

If you connect Xenogears to Xenosaga to Xenoblade openly and establish one single continuity you're having one single series be under the banner of 3 very separate companies. Xenosaga couldn't even make direct ties to Gears without needing to have stand-ins and could only hint at stuff due to rights issues. Guest characters like KOS-MOS are a different issue.

The absolute grind for Kos-Mos in XBC2 is hell but it is worth it as her optional missions will bring a smile to anyone who likes the Xenosaga games.

Browsing Resetera, they quoted one of the devs saying there was a visual including something from XB1 and the Urayan Titan from XB1 that came into existence at the beginning of XB2's production. Also, they say that the flutes are going to be a key aspect, with it also playing a huge part in the music of the game.

Judging by the games they are releasing, the Switch seems like it's going to last quite some time. Bad news for power junkirs who don't play games.
Two things could have made the direct even better, more details on Splatoon 3, and more about Zelda, them being secretive about the game is annoying.

I don't get why anyone would be excited for an obviously self censored game like XC3, I mean look at the designs compared to XC2. Heavily censored.

lol

There is barely any info in the sequel anyway, stop crying wolf for the moment

As much as people dog on XB2, while I had no issue but with Rex, I appreciate these designs. Rex's uniform was a visual mess before he gets the in-game change.

Chrono Cross' "remaster" just looks like what you get when you run the original one in Duckstation, and upscale the resolution. Looks like all they did was give it a boring font, and rescan the character artwork. They didn't even make it widescreen.
It's really funny, literal uprez and the standard dogshit Square Enix "remake font", meanwhile Radical Dreams finally gets a translation all these years, all but confirming that is actually where the money went.

Also, Live a Live getting a proper HD remaster is insane, I was actually beside myself when I saw that announced.

These are the same people who screamed that Blue Reflection 2 was censored for much the same reasons, when it wasn't. Just because a sequel has visual differences and features dark skinned people doesn't mean that a feminist got their hands on them.

There's a reason why the anti-censorship crowd has effectively been pushed out of nearly every community they inhabit. They alienate themselves due to hysterics. Not only that every argument they've made is usually done in bad faith.

Nobody's making a big deal over the XB3 protag looking just like SMT4's Flynn. And out of everything I think that's the most egregious offence.
