I know the comparisons to the Holocaust are moot, at this point. However, having recently watched an Auschwitz survivor's speech, there certainly are parallels between then and now.

You can't compare these two things, the Convoy is actually happening. Why don't you draw parallels to some MCU capeshit, people are more familiar with the details.

I find it widely amusing that the establishment are seething over the fact that right wing protestors refuse to:

• Protest in designated protesting spaces away from the public
• Protest in preauthorized manners designed to minimize impact
• Protest in ways that minimize any economic or emotional harm or message
• Protest in ways that maximize the police justification of force
• Protest in ways that utilize preapproved messaging

They're really drinking their own kool-aid. Anyone who thinks you'll achieve anything by permitting for, standing in the designated "ignore them" zone and not doing anything other than holding signs is an idiot. Those seething about this being an attack on democracy seem to fail to remember that Democracy is not "Giving up all your power in return for only the right to vote" - The vote is but one formalized method of being heard on a set of decisions. Accepting that does not revoke your right to other means of being heard, no matter how uncomfortable they make people feel. Not that I'd expect the anti free speech crowd to understand that concept.

I've learned never to underestimate the depths of human incompetence. That being said, the police would be incredibly foolish to intentionally brick the protestor's trucks. That would be actively working against their own interests, as you now have a 20 ton paperweight sitting in the street that isn't going anywhere even if by some miracle the protestors were to all peacefully disperse. Color me skeptical on this one.
