Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Environments are somewhat basic, battle and Pokémon animations are not.

Okay, I’m reading through this and I’m not really seeing anything wr-and there it is. Cripes.
lol They just can't help themselves. Gotta get in those keywords for some traffic.

Even though it's incredibly homosexual.

Fucktarded political shit aside the whole "Rescuing Growlithe is better then defeating god" isn't a bad take.

Pokemon has potential as a series that can step into more interesting themes using pokemon as parallels for animals with very dangerous powers while not having big crazy world shattering stakes constantly, kind of like what Digimon does for a good portion of its run time before escalating to world shattering issues at the last 10 or so episodes. This is why I actually liked Colosseum. Was it perfect? Fuck no, but it had something going for it with the whole weird experiments with Shadow Pokemon and being an anti hero who broke away from the Team Rocket stand-in.

Everyone always points to Gen 5 as the thing people really hated for no reason in hindsight that set the series back due to Gamefreak over correcting later on, but I think Colosseum should also be in that camp. Having a more focused and controlled Pokemon experience has its benefits, as well as having a more mature protagonist that isn't literally 10. Gale of Darkness came out in 2005 and they've yet to make a single player game like it ever again.

What's the thing with Shiny Pokemon that makes people so retarded?
I don't get it in the modern games since they're so common, but in older gens they were a trophy to show off because they were so rare to get legitimately. Nowadays they are basically given out like candy and have so many ways to make their odds ridiculously low that they aren't worth chasing unless you really like a particular mon's shiny.

Square shinies exist to try to make old shiny odds back in current games but since they are just the square effect no one cares about them

The only Gen that doesn't have a way to get easy shinies is Gen III. Gen II and Gen IV-VIII all have different methods to greatly lower shiny chance, and I believe Gen II, the gen the mechanic was introduced, is second lowest of all, with there being a glitch-free reliable method to have a 1/64 chance to get a Shiny of almost any breedable Pokemon just by having your free Shiny Gyarados be Male(lowest is the Cute Charm Glitch present in all Gen IV games, which can potentially create a 1/10 shiny encounter rate with any wild pokemon species that is capable of being either gender).

So in my own opinion, it is less that they became more common and more that the fanbase overall became more obsessed with grinding for them over time.

To Bloom or Not To Bloom is a really stupid sidequest that takes far too long to do for the reward you get from it.

Seriously WHY?
Agreed. You'll only get one one time out of ten, if that. Even worse, why the hell do Cherrim and Cherubi have research tasks for how many you've seen jump from trees, when they're so rare?

The icing on the cake for that fucking quest is that the only way to get a reliable completion for Cherrim is to use Petal Dance a whole lot. It doesn't learn Petal Dance until level 47. If you're hoping to knock out the Petal Dance and agile style grind at the same time, you get to wait until level 59 or burn a mastery seed.

Apparently there was a patch yesterday that fixed the form-change, impossible-to-catch glitch. I went to go test it and found three heracross in the trees instead. Fucking stupid quest.

To Bloom or Not To Bloom Helpful Tips

  • Blue trees have the highest spawn chance for the Pokémon. Focus exclusively on them.
  • Longer but better payoff: go back and forth between town and field until a mass outbreak of Cherubi triggers.

Was it worth it? no.

Brb gonna go 100% perfect the Pokedex.

I turn the animations off and the speed up in Pokemon games. Are the mechanics any different/good?
You know the complains about how Pokémon don’t ever really move or look like they’re doing the attacks from previous games? It’s been heavily addressed here. And the attack animations look like the attacks they’re names too. Flamethrower literally looks like a stream of fire shooting out and blasting the other Pokémon. Brave bird will have the Pokémon light itself up, fly up high and then dive bomb the Pokémon. Definitely worth seeing, imo.

Well Gen II was different since it depended on IV's. I'm disappointed that I caught a shiny Ponyta and just found out that they are handing it like candy in Arceus.

Didn't gen two also hand you a free shiny in the form of Lake of rage Gyrados?

This was my biggest gripe with Sword and Shield and why I really felt burned. That and removing moves from the game. Like, motherfuckers the Pokemon aren't even animated to do the moves so why are you removing shit?
