Two hot bisexual girls? Nah man, Cross Tekken is gonna be the BEST!
To be fair, those two hot bisexual girls were probably after Woolie's wallet and vital organs if they propositioned him on the spot like that.

It's like when young ladies are propositioned shady job offerings and then they end up as victims of a human trafficking operation or worse. People can get fucking predatory man.

Controversial opinion: Persona 4 sets the reader's expectations up badly. Shadow Yosuke is too accurate. The main inaccuracy - the Naoto being trans or Kanji being gay- of his shadow is that he doesn't care about Saki. But his connection to Saki is overshadowed by the way he rails on how boring he thinks Inaba is, and the shadow is a jester because he'd do anything, including flirt with Saki or follow Narukami into the TV world, to alleviate his boredom. And like Naoto or Kanji, there's a grain of truth: Naoto wants to be respected by men, and Kanji sews. Since Saki doesn't have long to be fleshed out and because his shadow doesn't visually illustrate his supposed disdain for Saki, you may come to an incorrect assumption that "Yosuke is bored of living in the country" is all there is to his shadow. The concept of a shadow at first seems like the real version of the character behind their persona.

Even though nobody who thinks Naoto is trans or Kanji is gay reflects "and Yosuke is a sociopath, and Chie is a dominatrix, and Yukiko is a bird!"

Yall talking about woolie being wrong and not mentioning the fire emblem episode where he somehow saw Jerald saying bileth is his daughter and her mother died long ago and took that as "Bileth is a replacement child, since his real child died."

Except Yosuke's shadow is lying from the start because Yosuke obviously liked Saki and feels like garbage when he finds out she hated him so much, even early on. Sure a part of yosuke was acting out of boredom, but that's only a small piece the shadow twisted into a fake exaggeration (like all shadows do). The real reason he's there is because he has no friends and this was his chance to "be a hero", which he ALSO doesnt want to admit. This is why his personas look like superhero costumes.

But as you said, it just comes too early and we dont know shit about yosuke so it's easy to believe it. This evil version of yosuke said he sucks and he agreed so it must be all truth. It's only by doing his social links that you find out yosuke always knew Saki wasnt his friend but he still liked her and he tried to solve the murders to get over her death, which was selfish of him.

But blablabla, that's still no excuse to misunderstand Kanji and Naoto when they explicitly explain why their shadows are wrong. Kanji says it's not about boys or girls, he's just afraid of being rejected and Naoto admits what she strives isnt to be a man but to be respected by the police force despite her age.

To watch Pat unironically say "Kanji is as gay as the day is long because he gets unconfortable around boys" and woolie say "naoto with long her isnt being herself" almost sounds like trollbaiting.

As someone who doesn't care about FE this makes me irrationally angry because I can hear the smugness in his voice in my head.

Something that bothers me with a lot of people, not just any one person, is people who dont seem to comprehend the point of rotating saves, and will have like all 3 save slots in a game be like 5 minutes apart. Its for if, say, you end up missing something and need to go back. If your rotated saves only go back as far as like 20 minutes, its pointless. Also for LPs, rotated saves might be useful for if you lose footage and need to redo some of the game or something.

Woolie's getting a little better at it. In Everhood he's starting to leave saves right before important decisions. Though, of course, he spends like 30 minutes explaining and comtemplating "which slot" is the best slot to use for that... for some reason. He's talking to Reggie like he's trying to explain away a murder he committed, justifying why the save he plans to go back to is in Slot 3 instead of Slot 1, and that his current save will be Slot 1 instead of Slot 3. OH MY GOD. WHO THE FUCK CARES? IT DOESNT MATTER!

I mentioned this before, but he's also terrified of making progress and like an OCD person who has to check all the doors in their house a million times, then get in their car, then get out and run back in the house to check all their doors in the house again. He'll talk to an NPC... then go back to the last save point and save... then talk to the NPC again... then go save again... then go "I... I MIGHT BE MISSING SOMETHING! I WANNA BE SURE BEFORE I PROGRESS!" and then goes and re-wall-hugs the entirety of the game again.

He's terrified of "one guy" being mad that his LP isn't "perfect"... but its not gonna be fucking perfect no matter how much he tries anyway. Killing his momentum and making his LP a drag turns off more people, I'd bet, than not appealing to... whoever the fuck watches Woolie LPs as some "perfect RPG guide". Be entertaining!

Front Mission 1 and 2, Earthbound 1 and 2, Live a Evil are all announced.

I can already see Woolie adding this to the LP plans because they're long winded JRPG's that can just stock up his channel because it's all about quantity over quality at this point. Make no mistake, these games would've been like Glass break situations on the old channel, but Woolie is so devoid of entertainment that Im looking forward to 70 parts boring LP of beloved obscure JRPG for the 100th time.
I'm of the opinion that the Glass Break system is what killed the old channel. Saving all your best, most highly requested LPs until your fanbase has plummeted, views have gone down and your popularity stalls is an unfathomably bad idea.

Yeah, I really don't know what the fuck Woolie was on about that.

GOW3 constantly shows how brutal of a monster Kratos is to the point where it POV's you to his victims and makes you see how terrifying he is. He just latched onto that one scene that he knew, which was Kratos jamming a Poseidon concubine onto the gears and getting a cheevo called "I didnt do it...but I wish I did", which was still tone deaf and was taken out of the trophy list on rerelease i think.

But that scene further sums up how much of a monster Kratos is, the camera doesn't "agree" with him.
Woolie watched a bunch of cutscenes and then declared himself an expert on GOW. If you rewatch that LP, his constant "Kratos is such a dick lol" inputs as if it's some bold claim will really start to wear on you.

Are you sure that it's not just Woolie who's that "one guy"? If Woolie cared that much about what people thought of his performance, then I'd think he wouldn't lash out so much when people point out that he messed up.

I'm of the opinion that the Glass Break system is what killed the old channel.

I dunno, it feels like every game that had an identifiable fanbase was held up as a "glass break" LP. I just chalked it up to the fanbase being excessively fond of memes.

Funny, i'm actually of the opposite mind, i think the mentality of "breaking the glass for the GOOD lps" hurt the channel by enforcing the idea that people only care about the guys if they play a game the fanbase loves (or david cage game), when their main appeal was always highlighting "weird" non mainstream games like deadly premonition, ride to hell and yakuza (back then).

I'd argue that many of the most asked LPs had fans hating it for some reason that doesnt involve playing it "too late", like Walking dead season 2, evil within 1, slowborne, dark souls 3, metal gear v, bully, etc.. Turns out making your slogan "expect nothing, deliver less" doesnt land when people have high expectation.

This also carried out to woolie too but even harder. A lot of people here complained the problem with woolie was playing games no one cared but when he FINALLY plays arkham asylum no one likes it cause woolie ruined it.

Note how the most popular streamers are those who never become irrelevant because their fans are loyal enough. The channel died the moment fans cared more about what trending games they play than who's playing it.

The Shadow is exactly that, the 'true self', as is their mantra. More specifically, the self that a person tries to hide. This gets twisted in two ways. The first is the obvious, the twisting of the truth that happens to get their owner to reject that aspect of themselves more, which empowers the shadow. The second is the one which is more commonly missed (as the reveal about it comes much later) and thats that what appears on the Midnight Channel is not truthful. Its the shadow distorted by what the viewer wants to see. That's what causes the discrepancies (i.e. Shadow Yukiko being sluttier than when you actually meet her, Shadow Kanji being a whole lot less gay etc.) that a lot of the misconceptions come from. Yosuke escapes this because he doesn't appear on the Channel, so his shadow remains more accurate.

I've posted the 'This is how you DON'T play FE 3H' here before but god damn that was an agonizing miniseries
Highlights included Woolie taking 40 minutes to be beat the practice fight between the classes, failing to figure out why his cleric was shit at combat when he kept throwing her in the front line, mispronouncing Claude every time and a long Minh story that is mostly incoherent

Again, a pretty good example is Silent Hill 2 LP, where he was going through a hallway checking all the doors, sees an elevator and a final door that looks no different from the rest, checks out the elevator first without clicking anything but the elevator forces him into a cutscene. BUT WAIT! He forgot to check the ONE DOOR. So this being the mod edition, he had the power to force save where he is right now, reload an earlier save and wastes like 5 minutes, all to check out one fucking door on the side, which turned out to be locked.

Minh isn't fucking fluent in English. He can't express himself in an eloquent manner and struggles with all but the most basic sentence structure. Everything he says takes 10× longer than it should.

It's infuriating because anyone that draws that opinion either didn't play the game or are just delusional. Twice as so because the entire point of Kanjis story was not wanting to be seen as gay because of his traditionally feminine hobbies but everybody somehow came to the conclusion that he's fag. Literally validating pre-S.Link Kanjis worst fears and justifying his overcorrection to be super masculine.
There is a grate comment under the podcast clip where they talk about it and it's basically someone pointing out that Pat and Woolie are exactly the type of people that tormented Kanji for having feminen hobbies. I can almost imagine poor Kanji walking to school while a ginger midget and a wanabe "gangsta nigga" shouting "hey faggot!" at him from the side walk.

Ze Zooper Beez Fronz?
This brought back a triggered flashback of when Woolie and Pat tried to come off as anime elitists by insisting that Simon from Gurren Lagann was pronounced like the (usually normal) western name...forgoing any explanation/feedback from chat (or others) that the Japanese language doesn't pronounced 'si' in the name the same way as we do, and that it's actually 'shi' (Like how Shiki from Senran Kagura is actually Siki for example), but would go on tirades about that.

Fuck. I think anytime they talked about anime it always pissed me off.
