Oh my god haha. Adjusting your colors to make em look better after changing to CMYK isn't even that hard. I just googled "photoshop change rgb to cmyk" and now have a bunch of tutorials on how to fix the washing out part of the profile change. But of course she blamed PrintNinja for the problem, because obviously it could NEVER be her own fault for using and abusing FF00FF colours.

Sidenote: Can we start using 'FF00FF' to refer to PK's colour choices, because it fits right in with the stupid names of her Floraverse creations.

PK Doesn't like using Photoshop compared to SAI, even though professionally it is a much, MUCH better option in terms of correctly translation colors, levels, values, and color modes. She bitches that "IT'S SO ANNOYING AND ONLY USABLE WHEN CUSTOM BRUSHES ARE DOWNLOADED INTO IT" and when she posts files to places like her Pateron (like the actual, high-resolution ones for rewards and kick-starter backers, etc) she refuses to upload anything other than the original SAI file, so it cannot be cross-translated. I understand that a PDF can really flatten the image and make translation of colors and tones bad just as a JPEG can, but her reasoning for doing this is asinine. "PHOTOSHOP MAKES THE COLORS LOOK ALL WEIRD AND FUNKY SO SAI IS THE BETTER OPTION" So if you don't have SAI, you're shit out of luck.

Go figure that PK wouldn't know how to use the dynamics of Photoshop properly or have any type of extended knowledge or appreciation for a professional-level art program. The Seeds book pages DO look significantly better than some of her older stuff so she must have used a CMYK conversion technique like GalaxyHarasser said. Like that shirt she did for example of Alice holding Lexy and Marl's fursona's decapitated-heads. UGH I cringe when I look at that shirt. I don't know which is worse, the fact that she made a shirt of that, the way it translated when printed with almost no value or depth whatsoever, or the fact that someone BOUGHT it...

And also yes: Blame the printing-press, not the acid-trippy, kindergarden-classroom-crayola-explosion color schemes. PK can do no wrong in the Universe's eye.

I remember her bitching about Photoshop in the past. I might have mentioned in here before so I may be repeating myself.

She had said something like "If Photoshop was made for doing art, than it would have been called 'PAINTshop', not PHOTOshop!!". I know some pro artists can do awesome stuff with just PS and the program itself is *the* art program to have when doing professional work (along with Adobe's other stuff). To disregard it because you don't like it is stupid and childish.

It's definitely harder to draw in Photoshop than it is in Sai, but it's not outright impossible, so it really is about making an effort to try and learn it and actually get good at it. But why do that when you can vomit magenta and cyan all over the page and call it a day?

That and she probably abuses the hell out of SAI's layer effects, which don't match Photoshop's. I use SAI for most of my art (doesn't use as much memory and is just easier on my laptop) and I don't have those problems. Just learn how to do some decent color correction and don't overload on saturated colors.

There is a reason Photoshop is an industry standard for nearly all concept artists, its really easy to fix values and colors with adjustments (SAI has almost none). Some artist just use the damn basic PS brushes and create amazing things. Really if she had more patience learning the software she wouldn't bitch how hard it is to draw with it lol.

A lot of SAI's layer effects have PS counterparts that virtually do the same thing.

For instance, PK absolutely loves the "lumi and shade" layer mode; if you were to take that layer mode into PS it would be translated into Liner Light I believe.
