Did someone run that poor, tortured, precious little girl's photo through a filter so she would have better teeth? Her contracted and possibly bitten hand being obscured with a sock and being held down?

Yeah something is definitely off in that pic, it looks like a recording still Robyn would post of Luna mid-seizure of her "smiling". It's amazing Tinlee has survived this long, but I guess when the hospital is forced to use extraordinary life-saving measures every time she crashes that's what happens. Poor kid :(

I assume "Protect TX Fragile Kids" is some kind of spud/FUBAR baby fundie parent lobbying group?

I think it's sweet he's playing with her.

I am 100% pro dancing video/pro dressing your potatoes up like Star Wars goblins. These little guys aren't long for this world, and all you have are the memories. If they can grift a little money off it, more power to them, if their potatoes are otherwise cared for and not suffering.

Does she turn cyanotic or does the pulse ox just slip off?

If the parents claim she's going cyanotic and you haven't seen it with your own eyes, the pulse ox came off her toe.

ETA: I have become what I hated.

It looks like she is less sedated than she was previously. So many millions of dollars in tax money for her care and she still hasn’t left the hospital.

I wonder if she will ever be stable enough to go home and live with her mom. I wonder if her mother is capable of caring long term for a medically fragile child.

Tinslee breaks my heart.

This "Protect TX" sounds like a variation of the Katie Beckett Law, which was passed in the 1980. In short, Ms. Beckett was normal at birth, but a bout of encephalitis or meningitis when she was a baby damaged her brain's breathing mechanism, and she had to be on a ventilator but Medicaid at the time required that she stay in the hospital. This law enabled her parents to take her home; she was definitely not a potato, because she attended regular school and eventually got a college degree, and sadly died at age 34 from an unrelated illness.


Eventually, Ms. Beckett no longer required continuous mechanical ventilation, but she did have a permanent tracheostomy which she hooked up to a machine at night. Here's a photo album of sorts. (Her parents divorced after the law was passed; both of them said it was not because of her illness - if anything, it delayed it - and she always had a good relationship with both of them.)

As for Tinsley's mother being able to take care of her, I suspect that she isn't capable of caring for NORMAL kids either.

I'd hope so but if I'm going by the size of the kid next to her she's gotta be like 4 1/2-5ft which while short for a normal human female is horrifically large for a tater who probably hasn't gone through puberty.

Hopefully she is one of those more high functioning downies, but still... wtf.

It does remind me of this troupe of drag kings/queens I saw called Drag Syndrome of people with Down Syndrome performing in drag. They were supposed to perform for an event in Michigan one time for pride month before the pandemic, but they were chased out and as a result they cried on twitter screaming ableism.

So, I've worn many hats but when I was in college for social work (never practiced in it) this was 10yrs ago now I was finished and what you said above was a Big Deal. I rember nursing friends or ones who worked in homes for developmental adults and that sometimes they have to teach them to .masturbate in private and they of course have to keep the more rapey downies (typically males,but some females who had been assaulted had boundary issues of course) away from the others and families would pitch fits when their downie family member would have a "boyfriend" and order the workers to keep them away or they'd sue for rape of their downie fam member and it was just...a constant state of keeping that shit safe. The workers , thankfully all women then, had to keep close eye on any male visitors to the group home/nursing home/whatever , because the downies are so trusting and could get raped, which is essentially what it is - they are too cognically disabled to consent, so even if they consent cuz sex is cool or whatever "exercise" from that law and order episode about the grocery store owner rapist, it's still fucking rape, how is this debatable in 2022? Oh wait nm

I don't know when this pendulum swung so wildly as to encourage intellectually disabled people to have "healthy" sexual relations.

I posted some time ago in the historical images thread about Anna Stubbenfield , when she was convicted of raping a severely disabled non verbal adult who rocked and drooled in a chair.

Is that...is history going full swing repeating itself again?!???????

I just can't even. This puts healthcare workers in so much risk for getting sued all around, if they defy the downie's family of not allowing sexual contact

I'm not real familiar with drag tv shows but I know they're popular , but I don't understand how downies can be encouraged to even want a sexual label? I mean wouldn't they see it as simply playing dressup anyways?

People keep asking the mother if Paisley will ever be able to sit up or walk, to which she replied that she will but there won't be anymore surgeries to extend her limbs, etc. I wonder how this child would ever be able to walk with those short, deformed legs of hers. Also, they should probably do physical therapy with her so she can at least (maybe) sit up someday? Parading her like this is not only degrading but also just a waste of time... she doesn't even look happy here. She looks uncomfortable and annoyed.
