General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Is everything that Japanese people do that the Westerners don't like "idol culture" now? It's such a cringy, overused redditor/normie term honestly, obsessing over that idol label as if falling in love with celebrities/artists/entertainers etc. was somehow reserved to the idol industry. Anyway the biggest omission here is ignoring all the craziness from mafumafu's female gachikoi and making it all about angry Rushia simps who are at worst mostly just sad or confused by the whole situation.

Whenever some controversy blows up it's almost always outsiders who jump in on the drama to larp as morally outraged citizens so to say while in reality they are just a bunch of bored trolls and antis more than happy to provide them with ammo, at least that seems to be the case with pretty much any East Asian drama. In this case people who shit on Rushia are largely just generic Vtuber-haters like Jun-fans, combined with her long time personal antis and general hololive antis that often happen to be also nijisanji stans:

Speaking of redditor normie terms, I think "trolls and antis" would fit in there too.

I didn't think 1M subs was a big deal because I'm thinking about it in YT terms. But twitch subs = YT membership right? So she has 1M members basically? At $5 each for base membership, does that mean she is getting $5M a month?! (before twitch's and whoever else's cut anyway)
Followers in Twitch = Subs in Youtube
Subs in Twitch = Members in Youtube

Ironmouse has 1 mil followers, which is nothing much compared to the other bignames on Twitch

Ironmouse however allegedly has 70,000 subs/members. Compare that to Gura' (previously) estimated 17,500 members (which was considered a record for Holos) and you'll see how huge that actually is.

Reminder that doesn't mean 70,000 individual people member'd to her though, remember that Twitch can gift subs/memberships. It does mean someone was willing to drop $350,000 for Mousey

No I don't want to hear some fat gypsy 's voice read Ascendance of Bookworm thank you very much

According to this site she's currently third in active subs, and also beating Amouranth in total watch hours for the past 30 days (3.39M vs 2.9M). Pretty impressive even if it's just a temporary boost (she was at around 14k before the subathon started)

60,000 gifted subs x $5 = $300,000
I thought Holos had simps. Subathons really is where the money's at
Okay site's been down for many days, all I have to mention is how many times is Millie Parfait going to slip up and refer to herself as grandmother in Tagalog streams? She's done it twice so far, both times requiring VOD edits.
Put tank in a mall

Gura: It has to be a felony -- leaving bodily fluids on the moon.
Gura: Have you ever seen the body of someone with a lot of babies? It's like an alien; it's horrifying!

She talked about how she'd rather smell like manure rather than urine because she's used to the smell from old barns. Someone in her family definitely owned a farm when she was growing up.

Gura: I'd rather be Mark Zuckerberg -- an emotionless alien lizard that's infiltrated your people to build social media.

Anyone who knows and gives a shit probably already knows her past as Lyrica already anyway. It really isn't that big of a deal and the chuuba scene has far bigger open secrets about past online personas. Not like there are any huge skeletons there anyway. What are they gonna dig up? That she used to play a lot of Genshin Impact?

Oh right. What happened to them. Last I hearf they changed their name because it turns out it was a derogatory term in Japanese or something
Yeah, they accidentally called themselves "Cripple Group," approximately. As a cripple I think that's cool, and I think cripple-Japs would agree, but we don't get a vote. It's up to the Twitter trannies.

This is it, boys. We've crossed the rubicon. I can retreat into HAACHAMA WORLD with the other truly crazy idiots, but your oshis are sane, so normal banned-from-YouTube moderate-right commentary guys are going to find them all and ruin everything.

I mean, she mentioned a long time ago that she woke up early one morning to do chores, didn't notice that the upper part of the barn door was still closed, smashed her head into it in the dark, and woke up with the back of her head resting in a cow pie, so it's safe to presume that "someone in her family" means "her parents."

Gura was 100% a farm girl
