Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

Great. But will you admit that this is liberalism, that this is "progress" in an increasingly honest state? Will you admit that, even if not intentionally, this is what you wished for? And this is in spite of there being a veritable library of literature going back over a hundred years spelling out in painful detail that this is where we'd end up if left wing "progress" is what we sought? Or do you think that this is still yet better than the alternative? Let's see how long that lasts.
I don't agree completely. This is not what I wished for, I feel people are entitled to make their own decisions for their lives.

Progress is, to me, just that. Progress. Less government oversight into our personal lives, more services and necessities paid for through our taxes.

If this is the inevitable result of liberal politics, count me out. Liberalism is not progressive. Progression is the betterment of us all, at our cost, to provide a better future for those less fortunate.

Being progressive should have nothing to do with party lines, but I'm aware of how ignorant that ideal is.

When did the ball really start rolling re: Article V? I see that Wisconsin signed on late January as well. Which state was the first?
I wasn't aware of that bonus property. The truckers figure that if the feds are going to try and tow their trucks, they may as well as make it as big of a pain as possible. :story:

Based Christian. He's one of my favourites and I've nothing be the utmost respect for this man. Having come from Romania, he's seen some shit and knows first hand how ugly things can get. He, and people like him who fled from communist regimes, are our canary in the mineshaft. Their warnings must be heeded.
People say Romania is the biggest shithole of Europe but I've always wanted to visit. The accent is top tier.

From the perspective of an American, you already identified wherein the problem lies. "Progressivism" here in the USA is part of the faction of the Democrat party that advocates for the most undesirable public policies that led to all of our major cities devolving into crime-riddled underfunded-police bribed-district-attorney hellholes. The word has been hijacked by champagne socialists like Ocasio-Cortez and the types who would come from New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, etc. It sounds very much like it's the same thing in Canada. The word no longer matches its original meaning, and the people "championing" it are bringing about the exact opposite for your country.

You're preaching to the choir man.

You raise a very good point that I'll have to consider. I tend to ignore American issues, as our country has very different problems but propaganda is propaganda, nationality has no bearing on its effectiveness.

It's been floating around under the surface. Not sure what really started it, but it's been bubbling for the last decade. Really started picking up States in the last 2 years. It's been studiously ignored by State media though. The very last thing anyone in the Federal Establishment wants right now is an Article V convention.

For those who dont know what that is, the States get to appoint commisioners with the nearly unlimited power to rewrite the US constitution. The only thing they cannot do is create a nobility, reinstate slavery or mess with State Representation in the Senate. Everything else is fair game. Everything. They could put term limits on congress, dissolve every executive agency, dissolve the house of representatives entirely and
make congress unicameral with just the Senate, fire the sitting president ex post facto, dissolve the office of the presidency entirely and replace it with a committee. anything their little hearts desire. And if 3/4ths of the State legislatures approve, then poof. New government. Congress and the President get no say.

I mean, I wouldn't fall into utter despair so fast. The one thing you can always count on is history repeating itself, because those who refuse to learn from history will always repeat it. And it's pretty clear our current government is on track with that. History is built on leaders rising and falling, depending on circumstances. Some countries had tyrants for years (Pol Pot) but they eventually were brought down. It's almost like the ebb and flow of the ocean.

For me, personally, I always expected our country to fall long before this. When Trudeau was first elected, I was incredibly upset but since I do practice a religion, I held onto my beliefs and promised to endure no matter what. And that I'd never let these people break me. And I've also acknowledged several times - even to friends - no where in the Bible (or any other holy book) does it say "Don't worry Canada will be spared lol". It's why I put more of an effort even in these last few weeks to love those in my life. Canada was never agreed to be a permanent state or that our modern lives would never change. With the growth of elites who believe they're living gods because they hold money and power, I knew there was going to be a point when upheaval would come.

But you got to endure and set positives in your life, otherwise they win. Times may get tough - very tough. You may see people you love disappear. Silenced in the name of a regime. Even you yourself. But the human spirit is tougher than you think and know - even yourself can be stronger than you anticipate. Think of all those soldiers who survived the POW camps in Japan, where they deliberately did the cruelest things to them. Even though not all of them came back, there were still those who did. Some surviving out of pure, unadulterated spite. Which is quite inspirational, really.

If you have food at the moment, and shelter, and heat, take that as a positive at the moment. Every day, add to that positive jar instead of the despair. You've got others in this country who are sickened by this too, so you're not alone. Even in full nanny states, there is always cracks of freedom (underground sometimes or not), so even if you're getting punched in the gut, don't feel like you're a total slave. You only become one when you completely submit to their doctrine.

Stay strong, fellow kiwi's. Worse times may be coming, but this isn't the apocalypse yet, so there's always hope that there will be a reprieve.

This.

Was thinking about things over dinner.

First, Trudeau has lost, no matter what happens. He has been shown, to the world, to be nothing but a despotic windbag who despises the average Canadian. He has likened members of Parliament to Nazis. NOT a winning strategy.

Second, take a little trip back in history with me. In 1956 Hungary revolted against their Communist masters. For a brief while, they seemed successful. Then the Soviets came in. Two of the leaders of the revolt were Imre Nagy and Pal Maleter. Look them up. The Soviets executed them both. But in due time, Hungary became free, and these two men have long since been enshrined as national heroes.

In 1968 the Czechs wanted to go to "socialism with a human face", and generally lighten up. Once again, the Soviets came in, along with some Warsaw Pact lackeys. The Soviets didn't kill Dubcek, just dumped him. He did menial jobs. But again, in due time, Czechoslovakia became free, and Dubcek was remembered for what he did and tried to do.

In 1980 Polish shipyard workers struck. They formed an independent trade union, Solidarity. Lech Walesa became prominent in the movement. In 1981, under Soviet pressure, the Polish government came down hard on Walesa. Went to jail, released the next year. But Solidarity kept on, and in 1983 Walesa won the Nobel Peace Prize. Once more, in due time, Poland became free again, and in 1990 Lech Walesa was elected President of Poland.

Believe the trucker movement is the harbinger of a larger drive for Canadians to get their country back. It could be that Tamara Lich becomes a Member of Parliament, maybe even Prime Minister. Things will take time, how much I don't know. But we can be damned sure Canada will never be the same again. The people have found their voices again. People will no longer be content living on their knees. Just like on 1/6, when the people came calling, "they" became scared shitless.

Trudeau has lost, and lost badly, just like the Soviets ended up losing, and losing badly.
