I don't agree completely. This is not what I wished for, I feel people are entitled to make their own decisions for their lives.

Progress is, to me, just that. Progress. Less government oversight into our personal lives, more services and necessities paid for through our taxes.

If this is the inevitable result of liberal politics, count me out. Liberalism is not progressive. Progression is the betterment of us all, at our cost, to provide a better future for those less fortunate.

Being progressive should have nothing to do with party lines, but I'm aware of how ignorant that ideal is.

It's not ignorant, it's just dangerously close to conservative leanings. The biggest disagreement i think ultimately is who we believe should be empowered to help their fellow man. Conservatives/Libertarians believe people should do it on their own without government and liberals believe government is best suited for the task.

I think liberals are a different stripe from "progressives". You all actually believe in free spech and open debate of ideas. There is at least room for dialogue and compromise.
