Pretty sure postjudgment interest in California is 10% per year. At 10% per month any debt would more than triple annually so that seems pretty unlikely. Unless this is actually a 10 month payment plan or something.

The thing about Fatrick types is they plod along in life pretending things are great and that life will continue to plod along like it always has. Being a pretend “successful” author, sitting in a bar plunking on your laptop all day, swilling beers and eating greasy bar food while pontificating on twitter showing everyone how much smarter you are than them is a perfectly fine way to live in your 20s.

Then into your 30s it becomes a little more pathetic as people begin to, correctly, see you as the guy that has stopped making progress in life.

Then by the time you get to your 40s everything starts to hit. You realize you’ve lived more of your life than you have left to live. You start thinking about your mortality, how you’re going to care for yourself financially in your old age. Your body slows down and your health starts failing. Things you took for granted become harder and life takes on a whole new meaning.

By the time you hit your 50s it all washes over you. You realize you‘re still that 20 year old, sitting in a bar pretending to be a successful author, but you know your bank account and lack of any retirement or future savings prove thats a lie. You’ve got no kids (especially the one you abandoned), no family to be there with you in your later years. Now the anxiety creeps in and it becomes more difficult to keep up the ruse. And all the people you thought you had fooled who have found some success in their lives, had a good job, raised a family, made good investments, can see right through your facade and pretend to your face that you’re doing great, but laugh at you behind your back knowing you’re that sad wannabe author who never progressed to a life outside of that stool at Hooligan’s.

Whatever bullshit talent or skill you believed you were blessed with that convinced you you’re better than everybody else?
