I don't think you can ascribe a single, isolated point of motivation here, to be clear. I don't want us talking past each other, bud. You're right that Soros is probably not strongly motivated by a desire for more money and power, he's in it for the sheer evil of it. On the other paw, you must admit that many of his class are hungry for more power and wealth and that motivation is a significant factor in their choice to destroy the current systems. Actions like what's going on in Canada demonstrate that it is about achieving even more power, completely unnecessarily (they already have enough wealth and power to effectively fulfill almost any degenerate desire) for any aim other than just to revel in megalomaniacal bliss.

The motives of acquiring power/wealth and inflicting suffering aren't in opposition at all, and I submit that the majority of this class are motivated by some combination of the two. The ratio might be hard to discern, except in some cases like Soros, but either way it is evil.

If I went 5 years back in time and told this to the me that existed then, I would have called my future self insane, but - I've read articles by people postulating that the elites are legitimately possessed by demons and the possibility doesn't seem that remote. It honestly seems like something is going on that transcends material needs and desires and any motivation that makes sense within "reality" as most people know it.

They have the means to maintain the current world order in a more or less steady state, they are untouchable, unaccountable for anything they do and money is no object to them. And as you pointed out, many of them are not long for the world, so wouldn't they rather spend their remaining time sitting on a beach sipping aperitifs? I can understand to some degree why the younger ones would be ambitious, since by their actions they can earn a seat closer to the head of the table, despite the fact that they will never have any material wants regardless.

Combine those attributes and you do in fact end up with something like a JRPG villain; a group of people who, aced with the rapid approach of death and the end of their own existence, which is the only thing that actually has any meaning to them (remember, they're solipsists as well as nihilists; the universe and everything it contains exists only for their own pleasure), they lash out. The idea that others will go on after they're dead is, to them, the most egregious insult imaginable. Don't these people know who they are? I WANT TO SEE THE WORLD'S MANAGER!

I don't think New York would ever flip red in a Presidential election, but the massive amounts of copium I am taking at least give me a 1% chance that New York gets a Republican governor. If for no other reason than "anybody but Hochul" syndrome. I cannot tell you how much she is hated in Upstate New York. Upstate only voted for Biden 51-49; I'm certain Upstate is light-red now. New York City is still very very blue, but I expect a lot of blue voters to stay home in November. Also, New Jersey nearly elected a Republican governor and nobody even knew that would be an actual race until election night.

One of my fears is that RINOs at the GOP will start diverting all funding to these false hope 'owning the libs' areas to deprive viable candidates in winnable areas. Especially since it seems like it's going to be a hard to get away with covid style election fuckery since mandates are falling left and right even in deep blue areas.
