Evidence suggests Russia is planning "the biggest war in Europe since 1945", Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said.
He told the BBC's Sophie Raworth in an interview: "All the signs are that the plan has already in some senses begun."
Intelligence suggests Russia intends to launch an invasion that will encircle Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Mr Johnson said.
"People need to understand the sheer cost in human life that could entail," he said.
The prime minister was speaking from Munich, where world leaders are meeting for an annual security conference.
The latest estimates by the US government suggests that between 169,000 and 190,000 Russian troops are now stationed along Ukraine's border, both in Russia and neighbouring Belarus - but this figure also includes rebels in eastern Ukraine.
Bojo really, really wants people to forget he had that cheeky party.Well they're still making noises like we're on for an actual happening
choose better edging material, I still think there won’t be any cumAre we a go for war already or what? I can only edge for so long before my skin starts to chafe.
Hey, a Jeb! sex tape would be kino. Longer than even Jodorowskys Dune because Jeb! knows that slow and steady wins the race.Neocongressman Joe Wilson (R-AIPAC) decided to hold a "let's bomb Russia" rally today.
It was less popular than a Jeb! sex tape

MY KINGDOM! MY KINGDOM FOR A HORRIFYING RATINGHey, a Jeb! sex tape would be kino. Longer than even Jodorowskys Dune because Jeb! knows that slow and steady wins the race.
the videos on twitter are wild to look at. archiving some of them locally.Russian armored unit buzzing through belarus. RIP that pavement.
this is ridiculous. without tanks leading the way any advance will get cut down by infantry and artillery. Its going to be interesting to see how these Blitzkrieg tactics of last century work in the era of drone warfare. Tanks by all measures seem to be obsolete and have been since about 2006, as Anti-Tank missiles have become too sophistication and war now has resumed being about Trenches, artillery and another new terror: Drones.
Tho air superiority will play a pretty key role for Russia and should allow them to avoid the sort of trench and dug in warfare seen in Donetsk, Armenia, Syria and other recent conflicts. Im still going to be really paying attention to the Doctrine aspect of this. Tanks now a-days literally need protection on top of protect on top of protection just to survive.

The threat from drones and missiles is not new. In fact the whole concept of a Main Battle Tank is a creation of this environment. Tanks had to evolve into highly armored and highly mobile vehicles to survive. and they did. Reactive armor makes them even more of a hard target.
And drones are just filling the same role as ground attack planes like the A-10 and Su-25 did, and by the 1980's that role was going extinct. The A-10 would have been shot down by USSR AAA that trailed along with all tank units. The Russians still have very good AAA, some of the best in the world. including EW/jamming which drones are going to be particularly vulnerable too.
wasnt there a US wargame where the information network was hacked by china and made drones and comms useless. maybe ghey can make a giant radar gun like the police and airports use to take down drones.Nah...the main battle tank was created way before Cheap drones took to the skies. Drones armed with ATGM's have made tanks sitting ducks. Swarms of them have completely changed the battlefields in Libya and elsewhere. The drones are difficult to pick up on Radar and are hard to shoot down. A couple dozen of these would absolutely shred armored column unless you could shoot them down.
But we will see
I mean, you can only improvise so much armor before your tank literally becomes immobile
(also these types of improvisations wont work and Active protection systems can be fooled with ease)

I think the future personally is Drones, artillery and highly mobile infantry. I think the tank is in its last decades but there maybe some sort anti-drone technology that keeps expensive armored vehicles relevant that's out their and deployed in Secret.
Just my personal opinion. Its cool you can disagree because I love tanks also bro and hate drones so much. They are just so fucking OP in modern warfare its almost not even fair. They make killing so easy and turn war literally into a video game from somewhere else where as being a tanker is a personal affair that requires physical work and risk
.....and what better way to directly support infantry than high caliber direct fire artillery? All the examples of drone usage "making tanks obsolete" have been in highly permissive environments. I cant think of a time when a middle eastern or 3rd world ground force actually took effective countermeasures. No EW, No IR smoke, Little to no use of active/reactive armor, No AAA use to speak of.Nah...the main battle tank was created way before Cheap drones took to the skies. that could be a thing.

and if you look into the very near future, vehicle mounted lasers will be able to fry smaller drones. its already in the works.
and to round it out, a tank can put a lot more iron downrange than a drone can and for pennies on the dollar.
