Bob's philosophy is based on a core pillar of emotional labelings, his line of thinking takes his own personal viewpoints first, then moves on to classifying the objects of his analysis according to them, without any coherence outside this "reasoning". As he himself said, he shys somewhat from eugenics as it's a common nazi/racist talking point, despite his own philosophy being wholly based on regional and political identities. He labels the vast majority of the population of certain regions as worthless precisely because they disagree with him - if Bob wasn't a die hard "progressive" (what he labels himself as, which he clearly fucking isn't) he could easily be a Stalinist or a Nazi, considering how both of these ideologies revolve around the elimination of the enemies of the State, even if functionally speaking!

Not powerleveling, but once in my life I met a guy that fucked himself over even harder in life. Wasn't even 20 yet and became a crack addicted husk of a man, walking around like a zombie and begging for scraps to sell for more crack. This next part is not meant to be a knock on those here who are atheists; I'm Christian myself, but I respect others' beliefs or lack thereof (my best friend is an atheist, though thankfully not the fedora-tipping kind). But one thing that most belief systems have that atheism does not is the assurance of an afterlife, a belief that this world isn't the true end and that there is more to come after we shuffle off this mortal coil. I see a lot of overlap with transhumanists as well.

Bob is 41 years old today, squarely in middle age. Given his health issues and general financial situation, I would not expect him to live a long life; even if he somehow makes it to the average age of American males of 79 years, that still means he's burned through over half his life already. Every day serves up constant reminders of how he's nowhere near as fit as he used to be, and he never was all that much to begin with. A pain he didn't have before, more of his hair falling out, not being able to eat and drink like he used to without consequence: he's getting old, and he knows it, and it hurts him.

He's long passed the point where he could have made some better life choices to increase his lifespan. If he'd put down the fork more often in his youth, quit drinking until he passed out in Chinatown, and got some exercise, he'd be in a much better position now and could have lived a long, healthy life. Instead, he ate and drank and ate and drank, comforting himself with the belief that he'd be uploading his consciousness to an immortal robot body within years and wouldn't have to worry about pesky things like personal responsibility and good health habits. And even now that it's clear that that was a pipe dream at best, he still deludes himself into thinking that he'd have his immortality if not for [insert random object of hatred here].

If this is Bob in his 40s, imagine how unhinged he'll be in his 50s. If he makes it that long.

The very first minute Bob begins by bragging about being misanthropic. He declares with hyperbole that he would've become a supervillain if he wasn't making these videos. You could affirm that bob is a spiteful and malicious person even when taken as a joke, but this is easily more an example of Bob being the dumb braggart he is. Bob is the kind of person who would brag about shooting a school if he thought it would make him look vicious and dangerous in an appealing way.

Very briefly, he touches on talking about Bionic Commando, which leads into the main topic below.

At the start of the 2 minute mark Bob's incompetence is nakedly shown in only 22 seconds

Let's tally up all the things bob is too stupid to understand:
-Bob does not understand left and right. (he somehow mixed up the camera and movement joysticks)
-Bob does not understand the Xbox 360 controller
-Bob does not understand most games like Bionic Commando are made for PC as well and require similar button layouts
-Bob did not play Bionic Commando and does not understand its simple control scheme
-Bob does not understand that this is how nearly all 360 games and most console games onwards layout their controls.

Despite the Xbox controller being the most ergonomic design Microsoft money could buy, Bob goes on to proclaim that this is far too complex for an average person. Those who're more competent than Bob are called button memorization elitists without true skill.

Eventually by the 6 and a half minute mark Bob circles back to talking about Bionic Commando and starts nitpicking the controls. I recently played and beat Bionic Commando 2k9 to fact-check him on this. Skip reading this if you haven't played the game but know that Bob's critique is full of shit and shouldn't be taken seriously.

-Why does Nathan Spencer even need to jump? Just use the grapple arm or an auto-jump function.

-This game regardless of its 3rd person shooty-shooty sections still requires a significant degree of platforming. The jump button is there to facilitate the climbing ledges and walls for vertical traversal. Not to mention the jump button is used to combo into the homing attack, which is necessary for special enemies.

-Why have a dedicated punch and uppercut button? Couldn't the game have the punch button in the weapon wheel and then use the right trigger to punch?

-That sounds unintuitive as fuck; you don't equip your fists to attack in most games. Besides, the two attack buttons combo into other special attacks as well like the jump slam and whip attack.

-Why do I have to be the to configure the camera? Just make it automatic, this game is just a linear shooter anyways. Let the game worry about the camera for me and Just let me do the cool zipping and shooting.

-Bob you lazy disingenuous prick if you played the game you're talking about or any game with 3D platforming and aiming, you would know that the camera joystick is an absolute necessary function of control. That's like asking for an auto-run feature in a Mario game because you can't be asked to move right yourself.

-Why have a dedicated dodge button? If I want to move out of the way I move out of the way with the basic move controls.

-The dodge button is a core function in most platformers, used as a quick burst of speed to move away from fast enemies or fast attacks. Granted I'll give him that in Bionic Commando the dodge button is used only for boss fights and mostly useless in general gun combat and platforming. However Bob's critique only works if he played the game which he obviously has not.

Bob concludes that this is all simply a symptom of a much larger malaise that pollutes the gaming industry. As the industry is no longer controlled by dedicated gaming companies like SEGA and Nintendo but by massive mega-corporations like Microsoft and Sony that make general electronics. Bob hopes that game designers will not push for overly complex control schemes but for fewer buttons, a more streamlined interface, and game designers that aren't afraid of situational reaction.

Bob is too stupid to figure out an Xbox 360 game controller, and by extension all Xbox 360 game control schemes. Watch and be amazed how he tries to justify his own incompetence.

Oh absolutely. Bob used to be able to pull in six figure views without an issue, even reaching over a million for two videos. But it was that ego trip, that nihilism, and that refusal to accept he might be wrong that caused his audience to disappear and never return.
