Forgive me for the off topic tangents Olly is not entertaining me enough. But I’m doing another.
Tell me your thoughts. Or rate me autistic what fucking ever lol
This is related to FtM and language about menstruators:
There was a Canadian company that manufactured cloth / reusable pads. Grassroots company based in the west coast with these alt artsy ladiez who sewed the pads by hand. Very up my alley, right? Right. (Ha)
They advertised in punky magazines and they had a cool weird feministy vibe. Enviro conscious. Carried Diva cups before most ppl even knew what they were. They made me feel like Lilith Fair adjacent or somehhing
They were called Luna Pads. They had cutesy patterned fabrics and some plain options and some organic options.
Within the last couple years they rebranded entirely and call themselves “Aisle” (…. As in the period aisle of a store???)
Jokes on you I’m pretty sure most stores label the “period aisle” as “feminine products” but anyway!
They have taken off any female signifiers. Any hint that their products relate to womanhood or female sex at all. No more cutesy patterns.
They seem to exclusively be catering to making sure trans ppl don’t attack them for connecting menstruation to sex or gender. Appearing woke and progressive. (That and making sure they have massive sizes available for the morbidly obese..)
This is the first thing when you open the new site:

Ambiguous body in boxers… (note - these are padded underwear for menstrual periods)
I am very turned off by this.
Like it looks like it’s taboo to have even remotely feminine traits. The available colour choices are EXCLUSIVELY notably masculine colour ways: deep blue, black, a deep red with squiggles, and deep green with squiggles:

Their (menstrual) underwear also has
army print and a deep purple and burnt orange.
Like sure it’s their company but I think it’s a bit of a misstep to pretend that women aren’t the core user base of their products?? Am I crazy??????
Is it weird that I feel like kind of unwelcome there and I’m disinterested in their company now?? Or am I analogous to an out of touch whitie crying about “reverse racism”? Please tell me your thoughts on this case study.
For référence here’s the previous branding and product—

Not particularly or over the top girly. And some were plain black or plain beige. Like none had fucking lipsticks or anything that I recall. Like I said these were feministy ladies. They were kinda ~funky~
Instead of increasing their colour options for inclusivity sake, they eliminated anything cutesie, whimsical or PINK. There is NOTHING PINK. It’s notably absent. NO LADIES ALLOWED. NOTHING THAT COULD BE PERCEIVED AS FEMININE. ONLY INCLUSIVITY.
Is this the trans agenda?
Is this the future Olly wants??? No I’d think he’d want a pad for himself and he wants it in pink with white lace edging!!
(Oh and I hope the pix are appropriately sized…. Trying…. )
