But of course. The tzar would never have done it but the heartfelt pleas of the loyal boyars moved him, so it is with a heavy heart he does what is necessary for the poor serfs in Ukraine who must be liberated from the Ukrainean menace. He will defend Donetsk till the last drop of the peasants blood.

I am livid. It is either going out to protest (which is unlikely to change much at best and will have me labeled as an Urkainean saboteur at worst) or implementing my exit strategy (which means leaving behind all friends and the extended family).

The next milestone is Putin's proclamation after today's meeting with his security council, which was an absolute shitshow. He is expected to do it also today, i. e. in the next 3 hours. After this, the troops march.

Some commentary from the nuclear drills few days ago:

On posted video Russia launches a couple of ICBMs and half a dozen tactical missiles. The estimates on cost is about 80mil USD per ICBM and 6-10 market rate for tacticals without actual payload. So basically this dog and pony show pissed away in the neighborhood of 160-200mil USD. This shit are some expensive toys. To translate this in civ terms, every 5'000 hospital in Russia could have gotten a brand new ambulance so that people don't die when you got to wait hours for your first responders (if you got them)

This is just sad reality how all the human potential to reach for the stars and build better homes literally pissed away in expensive game of toy soldiers and niggers.

I'm not saying you're wrong but it is possible that they are missiles that are near their expiration or ones they are replacing. A lot of people don't realise that big munitions expire because, well - why would they?

Of course I'm not disagreeing with your general point or saying this IS the case. Just that it's what armies do sometimes. If I recall correctly, the Pentagon has used various conflicts as opportunities to use up older munitions so they can buy their new shinies from their friends in Raytheon, etc.
