For those not in the know, if you get Canadian permanent residence, you are allowed to bring over all your family. parents, extended family, etc. as well, and they receive full government benefits including healthcare and old-age/retirement payments. People who have quite literally never paid Canadian taxes. So for 1 person working and possibly paying taxes, the country is now paying the costs for 6-12+ people. It's stupid, but if you're dirt poor in India or Sri Lanka, why not take the stupid western country up on its stupid deal.

The only way this cheat code stops working for the Liberals is if Canada devolves into such a shithole that even 3rd world people don't want to move here.

It won't take very long.

The average monthly salary in India is roughly $500 CAD. That's only $6k a year. Canadian minimum wage full-time works out to $30,600 CAD. So, imagine earning 5x your salary, and getting 'free' healthcare for yourself and your entire family, and the knowledge that once you get your PR, you can quit your job and earn more on government benefits and unemployment than you did working in the dirt fields in India. As long as there still is such a wealth disparity between Canada and the shittiest countries in the world, there will never be a shortage of people willing to work shitty jobs in Canada for a massive boost in pay (relatively speaking).

So, unless the CAD collapses, there is no shortage of illiterate, uneducated poor people in poor countries who will gladly scrub toilets and do demeaning jobs in Canada for a massive pay and QoL boost.

Imagine if there was a country that paid you the equivalent of $150,000 CAD a year to work a super shitty job where you were scabbing that countries residents. There would be plenty of people in Canada who would gladly jump onto that deal.

Thing is that's a self adjusting problem. You replace most your workforce with uneducated poo farmers and the CAD will collapse. If Canada imports enough Indians it will just become India 2. Importing 3rd world workers it's a sloppy patch job that just pushes of the collapse for a bit.

On top of this, the stunting would also lower public speaking standards throughout society, so that recordings of people from the early 20th century would sound almost god-like in comparison. This would seed into the mind of every Gen Alpha autist the idea of a lost golden age, especially if the trend of entertainment media making inferior rehashes of the same late 20th century franchises over and over again continues. This effect is already visible in writing, people in the early 20th century wrote long-winded letters to each other as a matter of course, and therefore the average quality of prose back then was higher than today.
