He was two hours late to mutter for 8 minutes. He was slurring like mad. This was the guy we were told had stared down Putin and would do it again? This tough guy? Oh my goodness.

:stress:
Biden is just so weak. Guy can't climb the fucking stairs unaided.

Also remember the last time he gave an hour long presser? He tipped his hand that there would not be US boots on the ground for a "minor incursion". Putin knows he can take Donetsk and Luhansk without repercussions beyond some sanctions. The only question is whether he goes all the way to the Dnieper for the land bridge to Crimea. I'm sure he's weighing it up right now.

Wow, that's it, he barely talked 10 minutes, took no questions and ran away for his Herbert West-Reanimator cocktail of drugs and ice cream cones. I feel so reassured, surely the adults are in the room again!
Did it end with the usual cacophony of aides screaming "THANK YOU! THANK YOU!" as they shuffle him away? I don't watch his press conferences, but every time I see a public appearance that's how it ends.

I guess we are back to this again:

Civilians shouldn't relate to the President as their commander, because he's not. He's their employee. And patriotism is love of country, patria, not support for a person. I think there is a political system that considers one man the embodiment of the state and elevates him to the national commander, but I forget what it's called.

"Enticing Putin"? Okaaaaay, General Fatton, now you're just making up accusations out of thin air.

Why anyone considers Colonel Calories a foreign policy expert is beyond me.
lmfao Putin only gets grabby with his neighbors' territory when a Democrat is in office, but sure it's definitely Republicans who entice him into action.

I sure hope he did that thing where he leans into the microphone and whispers about something....AND THEN HE SHOUTS REAL LOUD...AND HE SOUNDS KINDA CONFUSED....BUT HE'S SHOUTING NOW FOR SOME REASON.

C'mon man.

Well of course! Just as all the bad economic news during the eight years of Obama was actually the fault of Bush, all the bad foreign policy news during the first two years of Biden are the fault of Trump.

They're trying to blame the economy being in the shit and gas prices being through the roof on Russia.
First it was "that other guy" (aka Drumpf) now it's "those damn dirty Russians" that are at fault for how shitty everything is right now. Keep pointing the finger at everybody but yourselves, Brandon admin, it's worked wonders for you so far!

These press conferences are starting to average around 5-8 minutes. He must be going downhill fast.
2024, a patriot needs to pull the fire alarm at the convention hall they do the debate at. That will delay things by... oh, just about long enough that the chemical cocktails they keep him lucid with will wear off halfway.

Hasn't globohomo basically made sanctions pointless? Russia can simply sell goods and military hardware directly to China who then can re sell it bypassing any trade blocks or global sanctions.
You will not see any actual sanctions that really hurt russia. At the end of the day, germany and europe is totally dependent on energy imports from russia, energy imports that can not be replaced easily or quickly. Sure, france which supports a lot of the continent by nuclear electricity have announced they are building a whole bunch of additional reactors but they wont come online for anther decade or two so do not expect europe to be able to remove their dependency of russian gas anytime soon.
Powerplants take a lot of time to plan, build and test before they can go online and you can not do a "can we have 10-20 new giant powerplant built and online in about 8 months when next winter sets in?
Cutting of the energy supply abruptly would for germany not just hurt their economy, it would literally destroy their entire country. They would have to shutdown factories, manufacturing etc etc just to redirect the energy to heat their housing to not have the population freeze to death,

What we will see though is a lot of angry threath from the Biden administration, threaths that western europe and russia will largely ignore.
Western europe and germany will make some symbolic, but not too painful, sanctions like "ban banks that do not really operate in germany from doing business there and ban a handful of rich people in russia that never intended to visit germany to get visa to germany"
I.e. sanctions that look good in the news for the local population but do not hurt russia enough that they would say "fuck this, all the natural gas will go to china then, we have the pipelines already built".

And since Bidens administration will talk tough but as western europe will ignore him it fractures nato even more and pushed us even further out on the sidelines.

Well that didn’t happen lol. Never count on Germany having a sane energy policy.
They stopped nordstream 2 in the same sense that NielYoung is off spotify. Sure he publicly pulled all songs for twitter clout and then a few days later, silently, the songs were coming back.
Germany has two options, A) swallow the bitter pill accept that putin did bad but you still need their energy or your country will dissolve, OR B) have industry shutdown and people freeze to death next winter.

They will pick B since at the end of the day they care more about Germany not being destroyed than about some corrupt goatfucker regime in ukraine.
(German leaders also probably remember when ukraine used to try to blackmail them by shutting down the old pipelines from russia that went through ukraine territory during winter as an attempt to blackmail germany. The whole reason for Nordstream in the first place is to have a pipeline for russian gas to germany and furhter west that DOES NOT transit ukraine territory. They did not spend 10bn$ to replace perfectly functioning pipelines just because for fun or they had money to burn.)

EDIT: is the Biden Putin summit still on? Would really love to see Biden going toe-2-toe with Putin on a live stream.

My coworkers are talking about how we need to go get gas today because whatever new sanctions we have will make them jump up tomorrow.
The US was a next exporter of oil, and had internal production exceeding demand, but that was before Biden. Generally we import very little from Russia. Europeans are definitely going to have a rough year though.
