Won't ever happen without still having drivers in the seat. If a truck ends up killing people then all trucks running that software get decommissioned until the situation is fixed, unlike just taking out one driver. Best thing AI will do is allow drivers to stretch their legs while on long open roads, but they would still be required to stay awake.

They also have already seen use (without drivers inside) on private shipping routes like sending items to and from quarries and such. Though no public roads- that would be a disaster.

The use of masks makes me want to tard rage to no tomorrow. They aren't effective if you touch them, reuse them, or take them off of your mouth and nose.

The idea that one can stand up, take off the mask, spit all over a small piece of metal 5-8" away from their face, and then someone else gets up and does that same thing while huffing all of the matter on the mic totally blows logic out of the water. Since day one I've questioned this act. If every person touches their mask even once a day, the mask is moot and the purpose is lost.

I'm noticing a lot of people in this thread have shifted from using "Soyboy" as their preferred insult to "bugmen." The term "bugmen" predates "soyboy" in use, with "soyboy" supplanting it. I read it as a good sign, since "soyboy" is merely an insult where as "bugmen" is the definition of dehumanizing language.

But with that said I find "bugmen" to be a better descriptor of the stereotypical progressive. The particular bug being bees.

Bees are the epitome of a highly socialized species. We derive the phrase "hive mind" from bee hives. Progressives these days favor highly ordered social environments. They succeed in office and white collar environments, which is probably why their ideas are so dominant in our era of large corporate and bureaucratic structures.

Another thing to note is bees are uniquely smart, especially for bugs. You know how they do little dances to communicate where the necter is? Those dancing moves are unique to each hive, and has to be learned by little dronelettes, not unlike how we learn languages. Most progressives are college educated and are generally brighter than average. But they often have an overinflated sense of intelligence, since college is more of a barometer of a baseline intelligence, and really its testing that you can accomplish basic tasks expected of a paper pushing bureaucrat. It's one of the reasons boring, drab pseudo intellectual race theory goes over well with them.

Do not demean the bee like that, they are more like ants, fire ants to be precise.
