The Cuphead show is getting it in the neck because of this. Shame too, since it looks decent.
Odd, because I heard the Cuphead show did pretty decent. It wasn't the massive, genre shaking success that its game was, but it did alright.
I mean, I watched it and was reasonably entertained.
Funnily enough, I'm willing to bet it's the kind of show Lily, according to her preferences, would like as well. It's wacky, zany, early Warner Bros. inspired fun with very little continuity between episodes (there's a small subplot about The Devil wanting Cupheads soul, but it's hardly the focus of the show). In fact, I bet she would like it, but depending on how the social "climate" around the show develops (some nuts are claiming the shows racist because the 1930's-1960's could be racist sometimes, guilt by association and all that) she might feel compelled to vocally dislike the show in order to keep the audience she garnered. Most likely though, I'm willing to bet her views on it would be the same as her views on Hazbin Hotel/ Helluvaboss, which is that whether she likes it or not depends on how she's feeling that day.
As I type this out, I realize how much a slave Lily is to her fickle audience, despite her hatred of them. Hell, maybe that's why she hates them, she knows they'll drop him the moment she's not the "most up to date version of PC", so to speak, she's done. Or maybe I'm overthinking things and I'm just dumb, who knows?
Anyways, Cuphead, solid show. Definitely a kids show for children ages 5-11, but it's a good kids show for that age group, fully recommend if you have a child or were just a huge fan of Cuphead, just temper your expectations. You're not going to get an epic continuation of the games, but you will get a decent Acme era inspired cartoon.
