Some guy supposedly managed to make an AI that could accurately differentiate between straight and gay men's faces and a bunch of people got butthurt about it.
A troon recognizing AI would probably be relatively easy since most troons are painfully obvious.
They're so buttmad. "junk science" How?
It's a machine. There's no human tuning.
Input: pictures of people and sexuality
Output: guessing sexuality
Now, that they're sourcing the images from dating sites does influence the algorithm, but that doesn't mean that the algorithm itself is "junk science". It just means it has (for now) a limited application. Maybe gays on dating sites look different, idk.
That's what I love about machine learning. It has tremendous potential to investigate subjective things in a massively more objective way.
(not that bias can't sneak in, for example, in how they compile the datasets, but that's not really a critique of the technology itself)
And it all beats the pants off of anonymous tumblr surveys.
Trannies are fully melting down over the new Texas law but this is from a law firm.

I never understand the argument "ACTUALLY kids aren't getting gender surgery. " So then why do care if they make it illegal?
Second. Yes puberty blockers alone won't sterilize, but long term use + cross sex will absolutely destroy undeveloped gonads.
I do feel like these laws will galvanize dems in 2022 , Republicans had a great runway & they fucked it up.
Thing is, as skeevy as WPATH guidelines are, they're still something. They do, at least on paper, require medical providers to have the kids see shrinks before they get put on drugs. But in practice, many (most?) medical providers basically ignore them in favor of affirmation only treatment. They nominally ask for a shrink's letter, but they conveniently keep lists of shrinks that'll sign off on tranny letters after a 20 minute zoom call.
It's motte and bailey: "oh, see the medical standards WPATH sets out? the kids are fine", and then privately ignore said standards
Idk though, I'd be more worried about dems campaigning against smaller states pulling this stuff, but some heavy hitters are getting into it, like Texas. Frankly I'm excited to watch the fight go down.
And this is happening at the same time as all the Lia Thomas stuff. I think the dems will more likely just quietly ignore the issue and focus on something else. Or they won't and they'll lose badly.
